Off the wind on this heading lie the Marquesas
We got eighty feet of the waterline nicely making way
In a noisy bar in Avalon I tried to call you
But on a midnight watch I realized why twice you ran away

Funny idn’t it, that it’s only the races who think of themselves as inferior that think of us whites as superior.
Such is the minds of 5 year old children.
Us whites just think we’re normal.

Pretty fancy sailboat there, it’s going to need a crew. Two-masted schooner, gaff-rigged with topsails, 3 jibs on the forestays. The rudder is hanging off the transom, so is it tiller-steered? Ratlines for the crew to go up the masts.
Sea state looks calm. Is it morning? “Red sky at morning, sailor take warning.”
Unfortunately, there are two contrails that mar the photo. A modern problem for the photographer, there’s always contrails in the sky. I think there’s something like 5000 planes in the air over CONUS during the day, and hundreds over the Atlantic.

What stands out to me is where the planes aren’t. Almost nothing in the eastern 3/4ths of Russia and the western 2/3rds of China. Not a lot in South America and in terms of air traffic, Africa is a Dark Continent.

Of course 10k airplanes in the air at all times flying at the edge of the troposphere have nothing to do with “Climate Change” unlike Mom driving to the grocery store in a gas-guzzling pickup.

Some years ago before Dad passed, we were elk hunting and camping near Debeque CO. Camping at the base of the mountain and no light pollution other than our oversized camp fire. At any given moment you could look up in the night sky and identify indications of four or five aircraft.

The only way I will ever fly again is either on a specifically private plane and I and mine are the only passengers, or, the steering wheel is in my hands and I am wearing a parachute.
Otherwise, I see no need for speed and I have no serious need or want to cross large bodies of water.
If I did want to cross large bodies of water I’d do so on a compatible boat.
When a boat fails there is always the option to swim.
Last time I tried to swim out of a plane it didn’t work out so well. Just sayin’…

I lost a comment hereabouts. Did I say something nasty? I forget …

Nasty comments are better than no comments at all.

Who Am I? by Carl Sandburg
My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I reach my hands and play with pebbles of destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs reading “Keep Off.”
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive in the universe.
Duty, Beauty, Liberty, Country, Honor, Family, Faith — Plus a few simple easy to follow rules for guys
Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Many’s the road I have walked upon
Many’s the hour between dusk and dawn
Many’s the time
Many’s the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin’ about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
