If you look real hard you might see Mulder and Scully at the top of the hill.
Photo reminds me of a poem, by Mary Colburne, that I learned long ago in school:
We are the Trees.
Our dark and leafy glade
Bands the bright earth with softer mysteries.
Beneath us changed and tamed the seasons run:
In burning zones, we build against the sun
Long centuries of shade.
We are the Trees,
Who grow for man’s desire,
Heat in our faithful hearts, and fruits that please.
Dwelling beneath our tents, he lightly gains
The few sufficiencies his life attains—
Shelter, and food, and fire.
I WANT to believe.
But they lie like thieves.
Profound doubt this leaves.
Changed my trust to a sieve.
Immense anger conceived.
Retribution they will receive.
Never more will I believe.
yeah I just made that up
If you haven’t noticed yet, Scully has the most fabulous instance of what I call “comic book” lips.
As an avid reader and artist of various medium, at an early age I discovered the unique manner in which comic book artists portrayed the lips on gorgeous women, especially the side view of them.
Even more so the view from the front but slightly off to one side or the other.
Hard to splain.
The lips are curved just so and at the right angle, appear full yet sort of truncated too.
I can’t correctly describe it, you have to discover it yourself.
You may have to spend many quality hours dwelling over hundreds of comic books with spicy womenz.
Once you notice the “comic book” lips you can never NOT see them.
Forever more you will be subconsciously looking for them in every women, in person or otherwise, you encounter.
I was never a fan of XF, never even seen an entire show, but once a couple years ago I watched it and saw Scully’s “comic book” lips and the inner me, the younger me, the me that had been in a slumber for 60 years, was awakened, now in a way, I am 8 years old all over again, when I see Scully.
Thing is, I looked Scully up and and don’t find her particularly attractive in any way, and from a distance she seems to be especially dull and “wall flowerish”.
But if I see a close up of her at just the right angle it all comes zooming right back into crystal clear focus.
Comic Book lips are most common in hollywood womenz of the 40’s.
Go out and find you some, you’ll be glad you did.
There is unrest in the forest
There is trouble with the trees
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas
The trouble with the maples
(And they’re quite convinced they’re right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light
But the oaks can’t help their feelings
If they like the way they’re made
And they wonder why the maples
Can’t be happy in their shade
There is trouble in the forest
And the creatures all have fled
As the maples scream ‘Oppression!’
And the oaks just shake their heads
So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights
‘The oaks are just too greedy
We will make them give us light’
Now there’s no more oak oppression
For they passed a noble law
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe and saw

I saw that post this morning, Ghostsniper. Not a bad beginning for the day. Notice the attention Vox is giving to The Lost Era Transcripts at Arkhaven. This is the first big break for the project. I’m stoked!
