I’m going where the sun keeps shining, through the pouring rain
Going where the weather suits my clothes
Banking off of the northeast winds, sailing on a summer breeze
Skipping over the ocean like a stone

Perfect! I miss Gerard, I hope he’s found the paradise he knew was there. Time Marches On…No Doubt about that.

I never actually knew Gerard, in the traditional sense, but learned a little about him in our email conversations and his comments here. I think about him several times every day. The thought goes a certain distance then, quizzically, just sort of stops in mid air. I prefer to think that he is on permanent vacation at a splendid place where the rest of us will be someday.

Would the angels sing an old Hank Williams song? I have seen God’s Superintendent Hand at work on medieval art; I’d like to imagine that honor for old Hank. Others see them singing Bruce Springsteen songs, I guess.
There I go being ironic again.
Tracy sings a great song about the Seminoles, iirc.

Casey, you’re thinking of another long haired blonde male country singer. John Anderson. The tune you mention is Seminole Wind.

Thanks, Bilderback. I should’ve listened to that little voice in my head that said: “look this up.” it didn’t sound quit right.

It’s early morning, and I need more coffee. Lots more.
I frequently open both Pro trump News, and Drudge; the latter because I want to see what the crazy Left is putting out, and the former because it has the aggregation of some non-Lefty news. I read a few headlines, and got upset about one saying how Fox News just wants to “move on” from Trump. Really? He’s running for president! That is the nuclear opposite of moving on. Fox is going to spike Trump news? In what fantasy world is this? A couple of other negative headlines, and I tapped closed that tab and thought, “fukn Drudge” – but it turned out that was Pro Trump!!
If you don’t know the news by now, you never will. Last post I asked if this is Civil War II. If it ain’t that, it damn sure is Antebellum II.

Should I remind you of the slow slippery slide that led the Germans down their dark road? It feels like the same pattern to me.

How many young people in America today are ready and eager to march toward a “better life for all”? Their grandparents (hippie/boomers) were highly skilled at marching in protest. These kids have been told it is all they have to do

I’ma need every gospel song Old Hank sang, because today the State of Washington, as constituted and as a state of the United States, ceased to exist. Insleee signed a ban on commerce of the weapons his citizens own, and they are owned, as stated in writing, as a bulwark against an overreaching and criminal state that would seek to control citizen ownership of weapons. Insleee just touched the third rail, and I encourage him to complete the task, and dissolve the state government.

The state legislature must convene and dissolve the two bodies, the senate and the house. Even if you voted no (the vote was along party lines) on the gun ban/violation of the state and federal constitution, your participation endorses the vote.
The hour that the guv signed the emergency measure (several days late, and locked in the emptied Capitol under guard), two lawsuits were filed; one state and one federal, seeking an injunction and halt to enforcement. After the exalted signing event, Olympia opened back up, no doubt because the specter of gun violence has now been magically removed.
Like any normal, red-blooded man, I have seen these long arms, and have fired them at targets. After I emptied the clips, I tossed the guns in the garbage can. They were empty, after all. It was a lot of fun, and now I will suffer irreparable harm because it’s illegal to buy anymore in my soviet.

Who Am I? by Carl Sandburg
My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I reach my hands and play with pebbles of destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs reading “Keep Off.”
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive in the universe.
Duty, Beauty, Liberty, Country, Honor, Family, Faith — Plus a few simple easy to follow rules for guys
Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Many’s the road I have walked upon
Many’s the hour between dusk and dawn
Many’s the time
Many’s the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin’ about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
