Ukraine: 2015 and 2022

Why is Ukraine the West’s Fault? Featuring John Mearsheimer

Russia Vs. Ukraine Or Civil War In The West? with Jordan Peterson

And yes I know it’s over 2 hours of being lectured,
but it’s 2+ hours of brilliant minds working on the most existential problem of civilization at the present moment. Besides, it’s the middle of the night and what else have you got going? Don’t answer that.

    Hum, HUM, hum hum, hum.

Peterson starts by assuring us of his strong belief Putin’s Ukraine moves were/are unconscionable and then makes a very strong argument that lack of such action by Putin threatens Russia’s continued very existence.

20 minutes 11 seconds in; “Are we degenerate, in a profoundly threatening manner?”, hum.

This is one example of very strong evidence that Peterson is not on human and fallible, but dead wrong. This “perspective” that Russia was unprovoked is fueled by the corporate media and the ruling elite. At this stage in our civilizational decline, if you believe ANYTHING from those sources, particularly those of geopolitical conflicts, you are not only a fool, but in the case of Peterson, you are a dangerous fool.
Frankly I’m shocked at his lack willingness to dive deeper as he does on other issues. It raises the question, is this just a case of human weakness (Gell Mann?) or did someone get to him?

Why is Ukraine the West’s Fault?
    =========
    It’s not.
It’s the US politicians fault, starting with the vegetable at the podium.
The rest of us had nothing to do with it and, if they already have a full plate and a properly working head on their shoulders, do not give one runny shit about it.

Today I am finishing up on a floor to ceiling cabinet I am building in my air conditioned office to contain the 14 cases of canned vegs that came in last week. The cabinet is large enough to hold about 80 cases total, of vegs, fruits, and meats.

When filled the cabinet and contents should weigh about 700lbs. It is sitting on 4″ industrial grade swivel casters and the whole thing is hinged with (4) large wrought iron gate hinges on the rear to the wall studs framing a door size opening in the wall behind the cabinet. That opening will lead to a small (6’x6″) room I am building in the garage that will be shelved on 3 sides and will be where I store the ammo over flow. When this little project is completed there will be no evidence that it exists. The casters will be hidden by a decorative toe-kick along the bottom and will match the other cabinets on that wall. I figure that small room will hold 40k-50k rounds of varying calibers, plus spare parts and other associated items. It’s all about the immediate and long term future. Only my wife and son know about this endeavor, and you. So keep it shut. Thank you. Mgt.

    Oh, and this peterson hoon?
    Stale goods.
He’s addicted to the spotlight and doomed to fail, over and over.
    Mostly useless.

I find him sincere, relentlessly thoughtful, and highly useful and he has, of late through his own internal suffering, become a much more interesting thinker than he was three years ago. And yes he has failed over and over. Last week he failed again by aligning himself with the Daily Wire for many millions of dollars. To my mind he is not only the foremost intellectual working in the world today, he knows who all the other significant intellectuals are as well.

Hard as it is for many, and it is for me as well, we have to understand that we need intellectuals now in the age that abrogates intellectual life.

I pretty much agree with your opinion of Peterson. He is a wee bit crazy (I think that’s a requirement for his chosen profession.) but thoughtful, reasonably logical and articulate. Don’t always agree with him, of course, but always filled with food for thought after listening to him.

First, I offer my apologies to our host for not (yet) watching the videos he’s presented. I will try to get to Mearsheimer’s video and without having seen it, I think that I’m aware of it’s points: The West isn’t understanding enough of the Russian sense of insecurity, and the Russians believe that they are re-acting to what they see as Western aggression. I’m willing to admit that I might be mis-charactizing Mearsheimer, but in the interest of balance, I’ll add a rebuttal from a former Finnish Prime Minister. 22 minutes…..

Peterson is dead on right about the moral degeneration of American culture.
When Michelle Obama announced after the election of her husband, that for the first time in her life she was “proud to be an American”, I was deeply ashamed. I knew, and there was no doubt, that the people and the country I loved had just sold their souls and inheritance for a bowl of disgusting and antichristian, Marxist porridge.

    • Daniel K Day July 12, 2022, 9:39 AM

A minor nitpick, Denny, but M.O. said that in her speech at the convention after her husband was nominated. I don’t know if she said it again after the election. I’m right with you, otherwise. She lost me forever with that statement, and I don’t think it was just a statement, it was a lie. I’ll never believe she was then, or ever since, “proud to be an American”.

      • Denny July 12, 2022, 2:19 PM

Thanks for the correction, I should remember to check rather than spout
things (especially dates) off from the top of my head. Anyway, I wonder if
        M. O. has restored her hatred for America now that a white man is President again?

This is all circular arguments by people who have decided to prove their preconceived biases. Yes! It’s all our fault. When Russia invades Poland it will be our fault. When they invade Germany it will be our fault. Ditto Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. It’s all our fault! The elite have declared this because America is too big and rich and they want to destroy us and take what we have. We are watching the engineering of the downfall of America and we have Americans who are agreeing with it and cheering it. It’s all our fault, not Russia’s fault, not Soros’ fault, not Biden’s fault, not Bill Gates fault, not Klaus Schwab’s fault. It’s all YOUR/OUR fault… Stupid!

    • ghostsniper July 12, 2022, 9:35 AM

OneGuy sed: “…America is too big and rich…”
      ========
A gov’t, or collection of criminals, that is 200,000 TRILLION dollars in debt is neither big nor rich.
It is so far over the edge now that there is more of it hanging off than there is hanging on.

What is a society, or country, but a collection of individuals working for a common ideal.
Without individuals, there can be no collection.
As an individual your first responsibility is to yourself for in your absence you are nothing.
Safeguard yourself because when the criminals succeed in pushing the collection all the way over the edge it is the individual survivors that will rebuild anew. Maybe a new collection will occur.

Looks like you enjoy getting on your knees to lick the boots of government.

  • Dirk July 12, 2022, 9:49 AM

They think. Us peasants don’t get it.

Feel the need to pile it higher and deeper.

Knowing their conclusions the ONLY conclusion. You know,,,,,gods lips to their ears.

I’d bet lunch we all came to a similar conclusion using completely different Intel hosts.

The RUS/UKR war or “special operation” if you’re Russian can be hanged on the necks of our Dept. of State, our IC and Pentagon as well as NATO and UKR. Russia, like the U.S., has real security concerns though unlike the West is ready to answer the challenge when those security concerns are threatened.

We can go back to the beginning and ask why, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the COMINTERN wasn’t made to answer for its many crimes over the post-WWII period? Many of the perpetrators were still alive at that point in time and they should have been held accountable. They were not.

I’m also not sold on the idea that the Soviet Union just up and collapsed in spite of what our national security apparatus wants to believe. I’m a Golitsyn and Nyquist fan and believe the “collapse” was no more than, as Gorbachev said, “removing the image of your enemy”. Lenin did the same in the 20’s with his NEP when he lured in American and European financiers.

Russia and the CCP are very real enemies and only outpaced by their allies here “serving” in our government. UKR was/is the wrong fight and only demonstrated once again that if you really, really want to lose just call on NATO or the U.S. diplomatic corps. Our national security establishment thinks it wants to take on Russia though keep in mind these are the same people that have been running up the boards with losses since the war to save Josef Stalin.

Russia/CCP are currently planning for the war to end all wars while we quibble over pronouns.

UKR is finished. We set them up to fail though they are also responsible for allowing themselves to be used as a sock puppet of DOS et al. I spent my time on the ground there and once again found a failed NATO experiment as UKR MIL was in disarray even after years of NATO “training”. If you’re going to start with the bully on the block you better be able to take him out.

All we’ve done is sown the seeds of failure when we truly have to contain Russia and their CCP ally. Additionally, we can have no trust in our national security establishment as they are part of the 5th column seeking to destabilize the republic from within. Once again it will come down to the American people to defend themselves and re-secure freedom and liberty. I’m ok with that.

Lots of Boomers Booming in the comments. Just face it: USGov is irredeemably rotten and is a pox upon the planet in this Year of Our Lord 2022. Not your fault. But you do have to wake up and smell the coffee.

I dislike using a Jewish writer to Bell the Katz ™ — it’s a bit like only Saint Thomas Sowell the Holy most Radiant (in a Burnished Ebony Kind of Way, you understand) Messenger of the Almighty Amon Ra being allowed to Admonish Blacks in the BoomerCon Chautauquas of Cuckery.

    But here we go:

    Lots of Names and Gonnections.

Boomers will boom about it being a left-wing progressive Palestinian-loving (oh the humanity!) kind of Jewish website, but they’re beyond help anyway. Names and Connections provided for anyone with a chink in their (err) ossified brain cases.
