As a father of two daughters, a step father of two daughters, a grandfather of two g’daughters and an uncle of five beautiful nieces I have this tendency to consider it anything but funny. See, with the exception of some of the harpies and witches in government and in the degrading aspects of the ‘entertainment’ industry, I really like women and the very last thing I would wish for any of them is to have to prostitute themselves, particularly if they are refugees of some war.
I absolutely will not assist or applaud anyone whose desire or urge is to take advantage of them. Think of the absolute love of your life, assuming it’s not some guy, and ask yourself….

A decade back I owed someone a business favour and attended some events in Hainan Island as a Decorative Paleface. There was a dodgy prime tropical beachfront land deal to benefit some B-Team Beijing Cadres going down under the guise of an International Geriatrics Festival (I kid you not*). All I had to do was sit in one of the front rows and be visible in some television shots. Not a hard job. The funny bit though was that for one of the ‘International’ acts, they drafted in a bunch of Slavic Hookers from the nightclubs of Haikou to perform Kalinka for the cameras. Sullen and Extreme Attitude were the orders of the day. More like Ukases.
So the punters won’t necessarily be any better off with this development.
* The top leadership tries to keep a lid on corruption given the systemic risks to themselves, but it’s like trying to keep the grass manicured in the wet season. One thing they do is slap an audit on any Cadre visiting Macau (so there’s ways to be smuggled into Macau by speedboat to avoid immigration checks) or Hainan for non-official reasons as these two places are notorious for various scams.
