Thumbs Up for Rock and Roll

“It almost looks like genius. Let’s call it a flash of genius, but this has always been in the peasant ambit. Making this child into a child star would be quite the error. I am pleased that we don’t know his name. If this video makes you smile and be grateful for this bit we have retained in our culture, then we are fellows. This is what we should conserve.”—    On Slow Horses – by Michael DC Bowen – Stoic Observations [Recomendó]

Perfect candidate for a life of rocknroll,

Apparently unable to talk without screaming.

A great message, particularly for that well known group who blame all of their problems and failures on another group.

Every one of my problems—every single damn one of them—is because of something I have done or something I have not done. My own worst enemy leers back at me when I look into the mirror.

If you look in the mirror . . . . it’s your fathers’ face.

And, yes, our host would do well to remember it also. We all would.

The kid is great and very encouraging. He’s got the right protective gear for this age, but (geezer talk ahead) learning to ride in a tee shirt and jeans teaches you better to avoid falling.

When I learned, my folks didn’t have enough dough to buy us a bike. I used to walk across the road to Susan’s house and ask to borrow hers. She was the first girl that I kissed about the time I learned to ride. Fond memories.
