I went searching but can’t find that video W made for one of the Correspondents Dinners… looking under the sofa for weapons of mass destruction… getting a big laugh from the crowd when he said “no weapons under here.” Maybe it’s been scrubbed from youtube. I was wrong about this warmongering little turd front man for the extended Bush Family Machine allied with the Neocon Cabal back then.
I don’t feel ‘betrayed’ or any similar nonsense. I was inexcusably naive and sincerely hope to do better in any given present in the future without benefit of hindsight.
The information you possess now about Bush you did not have in 2000 and 2004. You were not naïve. Attempting to impress upon the past the recently learned wisdom of the present is illogical. Besides, his true nature took time to reveal itself. The man he was in 2000 is not the man he was after 2004 or so.
I recall a moment as the above Bush was packing to leave the pig parlor, when he gave a tour of the living chambers.
In the tour, Bush turned looked at the camera’s and stated “ in substance” that he literally makes very few calls, that he’s the talker, not the decision maker. That he was amazed so many citizens thought he was actually the shot caller.
I would agree with his assessment.
