A wise man would place the explosives on the ocean side of the whale. It’s a bit counter-intuitive, but makes perfect sense. They used a fukton of TNT, and it still couldn’t penetrate a whale. Blubber, bone, muscle, water, skin…
Dad was in the Pioneer (Recon) Platoon in the tank destroyers, and was the explosives man. They broke up the tank destroyers and then he went on to join the 10th Mountain Division. Anyway, back home and logging, a stick of TNT was mighty handy when doing stump removal.
I like the thinking re: atom bomb versus Rhine bridge. I mean, when you absolutely, must have and gotta interdict a tank army…

Enormously, imagine some dudes who get the call to blow up a whale. Pragmatic thoughts of disposal? Oh hell no. Their normal boring job picking up dead coons off the road, standing on hot asphalt direct traffic during street repair, then they get the call. Dead whale disposal, might need TNT. Hell yeah. Of course they went overboard. My first thought would be to wrap repeatedly with det cord, slit the gut and stuff in TNT and C4, put some thermite grenades in the eye sockets and a Claymore in its mouth. In Re the Netflix debacle, if there’s one part of the world nobody wants to see any Black or much Brown on screen it’s SE Asia and East Asia.
The Star Wars franchise shot itself in the foot by having a Chinese Pork Chop (slang for ugly fat girl) and a Very Black Dude get if off. Hard to say whether the Han were more offended by the sight of the Pork Chop or the Black or even the Black snogging with her. The point being that people out here still expect to be entertained when they pays their money — and looking at ugly un-photogenic folks on the screen detracts very much from this.
Netflix produces a lot of more localised content, too… Naturally the people it recruits to do this are the local GloboHomo Wannabes.. whether it be Indonesia or Thailand or Singapore, or elsewhere. Suffice it to say that much of what they churn out does not play well in Chinky Peoria.
