Because it’s time.
They say ev’rything can be replaced
Yet ev’ry distance is not near
So I remember ev’ry face
Of ev’ry man who put me here
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
They say ev’ry man needs protection
They say ev’ry man must fall
Yet I swear I see my reflection
Some place so high above this wall
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released
Standing next to me in this lonely crowd
Is a man who swears he’s not to blame
All day long I hear him shout so loud
Crying out that he was framed
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released

That was a great choice of a last line to end the video: “It’s a goddamned impossible way of life. No question about it.”
On second thought, that’s a great line to end just about anything.
I’ve given serious thought to having this song played at my funeral, whenever that may be. Is that morbid?
Not at all. You were released before your funeral.
Neil Young is wasted.
What a heck of a lineup.
I understood that Dylan gave The Band a push (by having them as his backup band back in the day). Of all the great things Dylan did, introducing us to those boys has got to be close to the top of the list. (Levon, Rick and Richard, RIP.)
Joe Cockers version is by far the best..
when music used to be good.
