Who Am I? by Carl Sandburg
My head knocks against the stars.
My feet are on the hilltops.
My finger-tips are in the valleys and shores of
universal life.
Down in the sounding foam of primal things I
reach my hands and play with pebbles of
destiny.
I have been to hell and back many times.
I know all about heaven, for I have talked with God.
I dabble in the blood and guts of the terrible.
I know the passionate seizure of beauty
And the marvelous rebellion of man at all signs
reading “Keep Off.”
My name is Truth and I am the most elusive captive
in the universe.

The Vault
Take It Where You Find It
Men saw the stars at the edge of the sea
They thought great thoughts about liberty
Poets wrote down words that did fit
Writers wrote books
Thinkers thought about it
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
Many’s the road I have walked upon
Many’s the hour between dusk and dawn
Many’s the time
Many’s the mile
I see it all now
Through the eyes of a child
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
Lost dreams and found dreams
In America
In America
In America
And close your eyes
Leave it all for a while
Leave the world
And your worries behind
You will build on whatever is real
And wake up each day
To a new waking dream
Take it where you find it
Can’t leave it alone
You will find a purpose
To carry it on
Mainly when you find it
Your heart will be strong
About it
[Chorus]
Change, change come over
Change come over
Talkin’ about a change
Change, change
Change come over, now
Change, change, change come over
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I’m gonna walk down the street
Until I see
My shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light
I see my light
See my light
See my shining light

““All you ever need is the Truth and the Truth will set you free!””
Isn’t that written over the gates of one of the Covid Camps in Northern Australia?
Vax Macht Frei.
About 15 years ago, while visiting an old friend on the Island of Mindanao, Philippines, I went for a Sunday morning walk through the neighborhood in the smallish city of Taguum. Dirt roads meandering through residential homes with thatch roofs and dirt floors. Some may have a refrigerator, no water heater, but definitely air conditioning….this is like middle class in the Philippines.
So, here I am doing this Sunday walk, and I hear Tom Jones coming across the airwave from a small house with windows open. Unmistakable. I thought, well, yeah Tom Jones has some love crush fans all over the world.
Walking a little further….and receive a friendly wave and Mabuhay from the lovely Filipina out on her porch sweeping and doing chores, with Tom Jones in the background.
Tom is popular here, says I to self.
I continue walking. It was about a 5 mile walk around that morning……and, I kid you not, another little house, with a hot Filipina sweeping the front porch to the songs of Tom Jones!
I got back to the house and mentioned this phenomenon to my ex-pat friend and he says, “oh, yeah, T. J. is big her with the girls…Emy ( friend’s hot GF – thirty years his junior) listens to him all the time.”
Funny. Huh.
I put my hand in the air made the peace sign like I just don’t care…
If Life is a series of lessons, then #1 is “There is no education in a second kick of a mule”.
Betcha TJ banged that woman afterward
I haven’t been feeling any unity in this country for a while. The progressives/socialists/democrats have undertaken a decades-long, hammer and tongs approach to undermining us. In 2008 a majority of the electorate signed on to the “fundamental transformation” of a country that was clearly superior to anywhere else in the world. There was nothing worth saving, was the zeitgeist of the mob, and they cleaved to their “savior”. And here we are – Balkanized. If there’s a way back, that does not involve considerable bloodshed; I can’t imagine what it would be. Still, hope dies last, I suppose.
I don’t think I have ever seen Van the Man laugh or even smile during a performance before. It appeared he really was into TJ singing his lyrics. This one’s for AlexG. You know he banged Janis after this one…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZmiefQ5y4U
Jeeez, catterwaulin’ and dry grindin’ right in mid air.
Thanks, Klaus, for that link. True living among the few. They might flame out early, but they don’t plod along, talking nonsense. There’s so much to applaud among the creators.
