According to police data, 12 big cities with Democrats at the helm already have chalked up record annual murder counts, with three weeks still to go in the year.
Philadelphia, the nation’s sixth largest city, recorded 523 murders as of Dec. 7, surpassing its formal grim milestone of 500 murders, which was set in 1990, police data showed.
The City of Brotherly Love had recorded significantly more murders in 2021 than New York City’s 443, despite having approximately six times fewer residents.
“It’s terrible to every morning get up and have to go look at the numbers and then look at the news and see the stories. It’s just crazy. It’s just crazy and this needs to stop,” Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, a Democrat, reportedly said after his city broke its own infamous benchmark.
Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; Louisville, Kentucky; St Paul, Minnesota; Portland, Oregon; Tucson, Arizona; Toledo, Ohio; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Austin, Texas; Rochester, New York and Albuquerque, New Mexico also had their deadliest years on record, according to ABC News.

You ever smelled “ Fear” on another human being? Trust me you will know it, the scent is distinct, the physiological indicators are clear.
Have you ever smelled death? I pray you never do.
Don’t allow yourself,,,to be taken as pray. Don’t allow others to hunt you. Always have a plane to protect yourself, your family in any environment. Be a hard target.
Lastly understand this. You may become the hunter. Could be terrifying, when it’s finished you will feel something you’ve never likely experienced. The skis bluer, the air sweater, your sense will be so switched on, you won’t be able to not experience em.
I saw plenty of dead folks while a medic in the USAF in Texas. Mainly gun shots and car wrecks. I have only smelled fear on myself while alone in the wilds: a tensing of muscles, acid rising in my throat, a lightheadedness and nausea. When the fear was gone I felt refreshed, like everything was new.
I have been in the habit of paying attention to my surroundings whenever I leave my apartment. Of course I am always armed—always. I regard those who wander unarmed around 2021 USA as very foolish indeed.

I am looking at the Smith & Wesson 9mm EZ Shield M2.0. It is the first 9 mm I have experienced that I can rack with ease. My question is whether I buy the standard model at my local hardware/farm supply/gun and ammo store that I love, or should I order the one with the crimson laser feature online? I have been shooting a friend’s 9mm (he has to rack it) pretty well at his farm range. He is not sure I need the laser. I have no idea. Opinions welcome. Whatever, I have to step up from my H&R 22 LR to a big girl handgun for home defense.

The reality is most pistols get fired at inside a range of 9′ or less. You really aren’t going to use the laser and I can see a huge disadvantage to trying to keep the battery charged over time.
Agreed. Most dust ups happen so quickly that you will be relying on muscle memory and habit gained from regular training at home. I have seen shooters so reliant on lasers that, for all intents and purposes, in a real fight they would have been in serious difficulty. Practice at home so that drawing, aiming and firing become instinctual.

Go to a gun store with a range and try different handguns, until you find something that fits your hand, points naturally and you can shoot with ease.
If you lack grip strength to rack a 9, try something smaller, or a revolver.
You will most likely be carrying this as self defense in close, (cuz you already have a long gun)
so just find something you can draw and make ready, easily, and practice pointing and shooting 7yds max to start.
You dont need lasers or fancy sights for that.

Add to your liabilities, now, as a citizen, the duty of policing your own surroundings. You’ll need the same small arms that the cops have.
Casey, while carrying a weapons a huge pain in the ass, even in my small town AMERICA, couldn’t imagine Not carrying a small pistol, anytime I’m exiting my vehicle.
Of course the responsibility of carrying a weapon for protection opens up a completely different series of required responsibilities,,,,,,,, I’ll take a small pistol and two spare magazines over nada every time. With the bullet options these days, he’ll even the .32 s can be a reasonable choice.
Look at the newer Glock 48s, or the 43’s or the 42’s. Outstanding weapons slim size, a pocket full of protection. Lots of smaller pocket pistols to fit the bill. Smith and Wessons new pistols are an outstanding value.
Heck Springfield Armory is remaking the Browning P35, the Browning High Power. One dam fine pistol. I’ll have two of the Springfield offerings by the coming of the new year.
After the 1911, the Hi Powers my all time favorite carry pistol. 14 rounds, the mag disconnect is no longer installed, a plus for upgrading this wonderful old 9mm semi auto, single action pistol.
My weapons of choice are .40 Smith & Wesson, 9mm Ruger, 9mm SCCY and a WASR-10 Kalashnikov. Lots of ammo too. Each has its own purpose. I’m looking at a Taurus .357 revolver as well.
Location influences choice. My cabin & canoe safety blanket, Winchester model 12.
Waist deep in a stream, .41 mag Desert Eagle (Was going to get a .44 mag barrel for it but after putting a .41 round through 3 1//2 2″ x4″s decided .41’s just fine.) in a shoulder holster.
Judge with 410 and .45 for short walkabouts.
Wee .38; not noticeable when in churches or stores.
Location influences choice, I occasionally come across big hairy things with 3 inch claws, up to a ton and a half of muscle on hoofs with antlers, many smaller but often meaner hairy things and, of course two legged snakes (The only kind of snake we have here in Alaska.), hence this boy scout has ta be prepared a bit differently than one in say, Eau Gallie, Florida.
So many fine weapons. That I can’t buy here in Massachusetts.
No Glocks or the High-Power or anything with a magazine larger than 10 rounds.
That’s why I hope one of the local gun clubs/ranges open up membership again. With only eight rounds in my SW Compact 9mm I need to know I can be effective with it.
My 9mm SCCY has only a 10 round capacity, so I use it only when walking outside around my apartment building checking mail and taking out garbage. For anything else, the Ruger 9mm with a 14 round magazine. And no matter the firearm, I take a spare mag. I always have a round in the chamber as well.
I know the gun laws in Massachusetts are terrible. Here in Oklahoma, buying a gun takes scarcely more time than buying a carton of eggs.
John I’m sorry to hear your states limiting your options. That said, many many fine weapons on the market with only 10 rounds,,,,,,,actually 11, with one in the chamber. While bigger the 1911 is 8 rounds plus one is a glorious ball buster.
I carried a 1911 for 25 years on duty, used Chip McCormack 10 round mags. A heavy gun, but good lord that 230 grain bullet puts some serious hurt on its targets. My back up for the majority of those 25 years was the six plus one AMT .45. A very slight pistol, with a 18 pound trigger pull. The trigger pull is the safety.
Friends, end of the day the truth is simple, don’t matter what tool your carrying, it’s how you make the tool work for you, under stress. Your mind set.
I’ll say this aswell, these pocket pistols are for breaking contact, not charging the ambush. Aimed accurate fire, as you get the hell out of the situation.

Damn New Orleans has had right around 200 murders this year, Damn Memphis has a piddling 250+/- this year and Damn Jafrica, Mississippi is closing in on 140 but the MSM in these burgs may be holding back on telling the truth so they don’t look so ugly and violent…no one needs that.
I have hope though…that all of these numbers will jump by at least another 10%. We still have Christmas and New Years Eve. So many jigs and not enough time.

I live a distance from Columbus, a suburb. I work in East Columbus.
Most of the murders (>90%?) are related to drug crimes, or between drug dealers.
The other day, two men (African American) got out of a car, and shot to death a 22 year old man (African American) and two kids in the car with him. Two kids, 5 or 6 years old. The two men got back in the car, and a third man was driving, and they disappeared.
The police admitted this was a planned hit, and not some random murder or shooting. It’s crazy. Sick. Most of the murders are in a few sections of the city. I think this is (largely) the same thing going on about everywhere.

The assassinations of which you wrote were numbers 185, 186, and 187 giving the city a new record.
However in July of this year, the Dispatch announced that it would no longer routinely report murders to promote equity and fairness. It is a purely political cover-up.
In fact all sentient beings know what is going on. Black lives do not matter to black people and white people are not supposed to know that. But, they do.

Casey, while carrying a weapons a huge pain in the ass, even in my small town AMERICA, couldn’t imagine Not carrying a small pistol, anytime I’m exiting my vehicle.
Of course the responsibility of carrying a weapon for protection opens up a completely different series of required responsibilities,,,,,,,, I’ll take a small pistol and two spare magazines over nada every time. With the bullet options these days, he’ll even the .32 s can be a reasonable choice.
Look at the newer Glock 48s, or the 43’s or the 42’s. Outstanding weapons slim size, a pocket full of protection. Lots of smaller pocket pistols to fit the bill. Smith and Wessons new pistols are an outstanding value.
Heck Springfield Armory is remaking the Browning P35, the Browning High Power. One dam fine pistol. I’ll have two of the Springfield offerings by the coming of the new year.
After the 1911, the Hi Powers my all time favorite carry pistol. 14 rounds, the mag disconnect is no longer installed, a plus for upgrading this wonderful old 9mm semi auto, single action pistol.

My weapons of choice are .40 Smith & Wesson, 9mm Ruger, 9mm SCCY and a WASR-10 Kalashnikov. Lots of ammo too. Each has its own purpose. I’m looking at a Taurus .357 revolver as well.
Location influences choice. My cabin & canoe safety blanket, Winchester model 12.
Waist deep in a stream, .41 mag Desert Eagle (Was going to get a .44 mag barrel for it but after putting a .41 round through 3 1//2 2″ x4″s decided .41’s just fine.) in a shoulder holster.
Judge with 410 and .45 for short walkabouts.
Wee .38; not noticeable when in churches or stores.

Location influences choice, I occasionally come across big hairy things with 3 inch claws, up to a ton and a half of muscle on hoofs with antlers, many smaller but often meaner hairy things and, of course two legged snakes (The only kind of snake we have here in Alaska.), hence this boy scout has ta be prepared a bit differently than one in say, Eau Gallie, Florida.
So many fine weapons. That I can’t buy here in Massachusetts.
No Glocks or the High-Power or anything with a magazine larger than 10 rounds.
That’s why I hope one of the local gun clubs/ranges open up membership again. With only eight rounds in my SW Compact 9mm I need to know I can be effective with it.
My 9mm SCCY has only a 10 round capacity, so I use it only when walking outside around my apartment building checking mail and taking out garbage. For anything else, the Ruger 9mm with a 14 round magazine. And no matter the firearm, I take a spare mag. I always have a round in the chamber as well.
I know the gun laws in Massachusetts are terrible. Here in Oklahoma, buying a gun takes scarcely more time than buying a carton of eggs.
John I’m sorry to hear your states limiting your options. That said, many many fine weapons on the market with only 10 rounds,,,,,,,actually 11, with one in the chamber. While bigger the 1911 is 8 rounds plus one is a glorious ball buster.
I carried a 1911 for 25 years on duty, used Chip McCormack 10 round mags. A heavy gun, but good lord that 230 grain bullet puts some serious hurt on its targets. My back up for the majority of those 25 years was the six plus one AMT .45. A very slight pistol, with a 18 pound trigger pull. The trigger pull is the safety.
Friends, end of the day the truth is simple, don’t matter what tool your carrying, it’s how you make the tool work for you, under stress. Your mind set.
I’ll say this aswell, these pocket pistols are for breaking contact, not charging the ambush. Aimed accurate fire, as you get the hell out of the situation.

Damn New Orleans has had right around 200 murders this year, Damn Memphis has a piddling 250+/- this year and Damn Jafrica, Mississippi is closing in on 140 but the MSM in these burgs may be holding back on telling the truth so they don’t look so ugly and violent…no one needs that.
I have hope though…that all of these numbers will jump by at least another 10%. We still have Christmas and New Years Eve. So many jigs and not enough time.

Most of the murders (>90%?) are related to drug crimes, or between drug dealers.
The other day, two men (African American) got out of a car, and shot to death a 22 year old man (African American) and two kids in the car with him. Two kids, 5 or 6 years old. The two men got back in the car, and a third man was driving, and they disappeared.
The police admitted this was a planned hit, and not some random murder or shooting. It’s crazy. Sick. Most of the murders are in a few sections of the city. I think this is (largely) the same thing going on about everywhere.

The assassinations of which you wrote were numbers 185, 186, and 187 giving the city a new record.
However in July of this year, the Dispatch announced that it would no longer routinely report murders to promote equity and fairness. It is a purely political cover-up.
In fact all sentient beings know what is going on. Black lives do not matter to black people and white people are not supposed to know that. But, they do.

Mayor Kenney said “this needs to stop,” by which he means all those white supremacist marauders invading black neighborhoods wreaking havoc. Them and the cops, of course. More blacks are killed by their “brothers” in a week in Chicago than white cops have killed black guys in the last 5 freakin’ years.
