Somebody please tell me the RNC is already at work on their own version of this for next week, played while showing all the best highlights from Portland.

Battle lines have been drawn. We’re just waiting for these fools to cross them en masse and we got all the time in the world.

Rolling Stone writer Matt Taibbi announced the traditional drinking game wherein one must drink whenever someone says specific words. In this case it was words like “post office,” “(something something) Mitch McConnell” and “existential threat.” Saying “racist” or “liar” only triggers one drink per hour.

Taibbi suspended the game 12 minutes in, as he was already smashed by then.

    That music video. My god.

It’s not bad enough that a self-absorbed actor decided making it was a good idea and somehow got Stephen for-god’s-sake Stills to agree. I can picture something stupid like that, look at the plague of “celebrity” videos we suffered through at the beginning of the lockdown. But then numerous people, presumably adults, decided that playing this … thing at the 2020 Democratic National Convention was a good thing to do: That this was exactly the look required for the political party that seriously intends to rule the United States of America.

  • Jack Crevalle August 18, 2020, 11:43 AM

Joel, you chose exactly the right verb. This party plainly does not intend to govern the United States. It intends to rule.

@AndrewCuomo, thank you for your leadership and the example you’ve set for all Americans during this pandemic. #DemConvention…responsible for the most deaths in the country.

    There, I finished for you.

    Theres something happening here
What it is aint exactly clear
There’s a stiff on guitar over there
    Telling me their judgment’s impaired
    Its time you stopped, Demos
    Whats the deal
    Everyone sees whats been concealed

    There’s racial lines being dtawn
Colored lives right, but white males always wrong
    Old hippies warping young minds
Getting too much resistance from maligned

    Its time you stopped …

What a fiasco for the Proggs
    Thousands of normals are agog
A sending tweets with a bludgeoning wit
Mostly sayin, what is this crazed shit

    Its time …

    Virtue signals strike deep
Into your speech they will creep
From now on, your party will fade
Come election time, our wrath will blow you away

The dems seem to be self imploding and no wonder . They’re all batshit crazy !!! Love the new lyrics by the way. Stephen Stills is pathetic. Just get off the stage dude, please !

  • Lance de Boyle August 18, 2020, 7:55 PM

Oh, thanks, callmelennie, I peed my pants.

Not your fault. I was going to pee my pants anyway.

    That was great, anyhwho!

Superb lyrics,Lennie!! Wow factor cranked to 11,nicely done.
The new improved version should be played at the RNC convention. It would be fun to watch the reaction of the assorted progs, commies & batsh*t droolers of the DNC.
They would sh*t themselves lifeless, which is’nt necessarily a bad thing.

  • callmelennie August 19, 2020, 8:53 AM

Thank you, thank you ladies and gentlemen for your kind comments

You know what they say: laughter and applause cause the exact same reaction in the mind of a comic that the pitiful, hunger fueled yelps of African wild dog puppies cause in their mother: it stimulates a regurgitation of even more material

And indeed that is what happened to me; I have now “fleshed out” my lyrics to cover the entire song. And the end result can be found here

………and these people want to take charge of your healthcare………

Even worse if possible is listening to NPR’s breathless, witless, attempts to convince us each morning that the previous night’s speeches were truly spellbinding.
