The Declaration

“About the Declaration there is a finality that is exceedingly restful.

“It is often asserted that the world has made a great deal of progress since 1776, that we have had new thoughts and new experiences which have given us a great advance over the people of that day, and that we may therefore very well discard their conclusions for something more modern. But that reasoning cannot be applied to this great charter.

“If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions.

“If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people.

“Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. They are reactionary. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers.”

    But of course.

Precisely why collectivists seized upon the brand of progressive.

The whole leaning forward bullshit is the exact opposite of the sell.

With great appeal to the unthinking, having been acculturated to the majik of jingo, chant and slogan.

“If anyone wishes to deny their truth….”
    ============================

What is the diff between denying the truth and ignoring it?

Denying the truth is a statement that the truth does not exist or is wrong.
Ignoring the truth does neither, but acts like it is irrelevant.
When the truth becomes irrelevant what IS relevant?
    Nothing. Nothing at all.
Everything is arbitrary and nothing really matters.

What is the diff between anarchy (absence of gov’t) and arbitrary gov’t?
An arbitrary gov’t, one that behaves on whims, is nothing but a rogue state, another group of thugs, but with the benefit of the monopoly on power.

If you add up all the private criminals, regular everyday criminals that victimize others as they see fit, and add them in with the gov’t criminals that also victimize people worldwide everyday, and the many, many people that enable them, you will see that we, the law abiding and moral people, are way outnumbered.

We, the moral people, the people that strive to never harm others, that go about minding our own business every single day, and try to obey what we believe to be laws based on fairness, are surrounded by an ocean of criminals and if we congregate amongst the criminals we will most certainly become victimized by them.

The best way to avoid becoming victimized by criminals is to not be where they are, or anywhere in proximity to them. Distance increases safety.

    Exactamundo ghost!

This is why indifference and faithlessness to a God of Grace is the antithesis of life, and also why all beasts and flies will die forever, – while some people won’t.
