Amazing voice; God bless her and her schoolmates.

When He closes one door, He does indeed open another.
    Thank you for sharing this.

  • Rita December 16, 2021, 2:27 PM

What an angelic voice, and if I could, I would go and hug the entire choir. Such beautiful innocence is seldom found today. Thanks, Gerard, you made my day and my Christmas.

  • Jack December 16, 2021, 3:13 PM

That is the nicest thing that has happened to me all day. Thank you so much for sharing it.

  • Princess Cutekitten December 16, 2021, 3:17 PM

She has a great voice! In 5-10 years we may be hearing more from her.

Merry Christmas, and may God bless us, every one.

This will not be a very merry Christmas for Jewel’s family. Gerard, can you extend to them our condolences and let them know they’re in our prayers?

    • Mike Austin December 16, 2021, 3:34 PM

She did not know it, but that little girl sang for Jewel.

“I’ll stand before the lord of song
With nothing on my tongue but hallelujah!
      Hallelujah, Hallelujah”.

      • Mary Ann December 16, 2021, 4:48 PM

💖 yes, I think she did.

  • Mike Austin December 16, 2021, 3:21 PM

Why do you insist on making this 68 year old man cry like a child? Thank you Gerard. Bless you Gerard.

“Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.”.—Matthew 18:2–5

IDK about autism, but often an ADHD child is brilliant in some, and often many, ways. This is a blessing video; thanks for sharing it.

  • Patrick December 16, 2021, 6:42 PM

Here are the words as sung. This is not Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”.

I’ve heard about this baby boy
Who’s come to earth to bring us joy
And I just want to sing this song to you
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
With every breath I’m singing Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

    A couple came to Bethlehem
Expecting child, they searched the inn
To find a place for You were coming soon
There was no room for them to stay
So in a manger filled with hay
God’s only Son was born, oh Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

The shepherds left their flocks by night
To see this baby wrapped in light
A host of angels led them all to You
It was just as the angels said
You’ll find Him in a manger bed
    Immanuel and Savior, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

A star shown bright up in the east
To Bethlehem, the Wise Men three
Came many miles and journeyed long for You
And to the place at which You were
Their frankincense and gold and myrrh
They gave to You and cried out Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I know You came to rescue me
This baby boy would grow to be
A man and one day die for me and you
My sins would drive the nails in You
That rugged cross was my cross, too
Still every breath You drew was Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
    Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

    • Mike Seyle December 17, 2021, 5:58 AM

True, Patrick. My wife heard me enjoying this video and came to watch. She told me it’s not Cohen’s version, which prompted me to look it up. His lyrics are interesting to read, and I need to take more time with his song. But … not to take a thing away from these kids, who sang what was handed them; beautiful, delightful and inspiring they are. God bless.

  • Grumpy_98 December 16, 2021, 8:07 PM

Beautiful. Next time I’ll heed a tissue alert.

  • Tom Hyland December 16, 2021, 8:28 PM

It’s the multitudes of vaccines. Autism was almost non-existent when I was a little kid. I’ve read autism is now 1 in 25 children and climbing. Trump was totally anti-vaccine when he was running for President. I heard him say it when he did a rally in May 2016. His son Baron is a strange kid. And Trump said there’s three families in Trump Tower with autistic kids. Then came pay-back time and he became vaccine salesman to the world. This musical number was lovely as can be but all those kids have been poisoned with toxins.

    • ghostsniper December 15, 2022, 2:05 PM

      That little girl did wonderful.
I’m not going to say vaccines are not a problem because I just don’t know.
What I will say is that some kids are different from the norm for various reasons and when we were young (50’s and 60’s) teachers knew how to deal with it. I believe the quality of school teachers has diminished and society at large has become a tribe of victims looking for a source. The school system was looking for a place to assign blame so they pinned it on the innocent kids and made up a new name for it. Look at the definition for the word autism. It’s nonspecific and seems like just about anybody can fit the mold. I’m pretty certain I did and do, fit that mold. Cramming 30 kids in a room and trying to teach them all the same thing at the same time and same rate means there will be gaps in the quality of the outcomes. Public school forces young people to endure 12+1 years of torture to learn what amounts to about 3 years worth of stuff dragged out for the duration. As my old gray haired uncle used to say, “Teach a kid to read, then get out of their way.”

      • Tom Hyland December 15, 2022, 6:21 PM

Very cool you’ve chimed in another year later, I enjoy it. Of course, this choir of Irish kids is such a memorable event, and me being so Irish, I’m sucked down hard and powerless. I’ll watch it a few more times in the days ahead and maybe Gerard will post it again. I’m still massively wary of the vaxx. So many pokes children have received. Nothing like we were subjected to back then. I’ll turn 67 in less than a week so you and I are peers in all of it. I raise a toast to yer uncle! “Teach a kid to read, then get out of their way.” Damn right. Kill the TV. Whup out the guitar. Me with my flute.

  • Princess Cutekitten December 16, 2021, 9:33 PM

    Merry Christmas, Tom!

My son had an extremely high fever just when he was starting to talk, so I know the hard way that that can also cause autism.

  • John Venlet December 17, 2021, 4:48 AM

This makes for an uplifting start to the day, also. Thanks, Gerard.

  • jwm December 17, 2021, 6:05 AM

There’s a short story here just waiting for the right writer. (not me)
“…She was unruly, would not follow directions, and as far as her teachers were concerned the girl was a lost cause. And how would they ever find a place for her in the Christmas program?”

    JWM

    • ghostsniper December 15, 2022, 5:58 PM

She didn’t fit the mold and stood out which was not dealable with the “one size fits all” model, thus, she was “a lost cause”. As with most things these days the teachers have become barely capable. Little more than gov’t drones collecting paychecks for babysitting.

That little girl was champing at the bit for sustenance which can never be found in a gov’t environment.
The best thing for her, which she will most likely never receive, is to be set free from that cage and encouraged to fly. She is already more intelligent than those around her but for now she must endure the chains.

  • Jack December 17, 2021, 6:32 AM

Here she is again, a few years older. An amazing and lovely young girl.

Jack, thanks so much for pointing to that video. Young Kaylee’s voice has grown angelically more beautiful. Another point I think bears mentioning, is that in appearance, she exhibits a natural poise and beauty, a wholesomeness that has become more rare in youth throughout America. Thank you again.

    • My two cents December 15, 2022, 7:04 PM

That music teacher/accompanist deserves a gold medal, in my opinion. A rare person.

  • John Venlet December 15, 2022, 10:15 AM

One year on, this video, young Kaylee and the entire choir, once again uplift my heart as they uplift their voices. Thank you, Gerard.

  • CA December 15, 2022, 11:52 AM

    Thank you.

Haven’t felt the season and the reason.

    Until now.

    Hallelujah.

    Best to all,
    CA

might also want to check out LUCY THOMAS version of this, what a voice. CHEERS FROM CANADA

  • Flappr December 15, 2022, 2:21 PM

A voice and a choir that can make a dreary day seem less so – a special thing.

Thank you for sharing, Mr. VDL.

  • Arthur Murton December 15, 2022, 2:59 PM

I am late to this, but need to speak. My son is studying to be a teacher and wants very much to work at a school of the sort where Kaylee Rogers attends. His motivation escapes me most of the time, but he seems to have a calling. This wonderful video is, to me, a window into what my son must see. That is a gift.

  • Dirk December 15, 2022, 5:00 PM

Having just returned from our Granddaughters school program, at Bonanza elementary school. Which was fun.

This vid is absolutley wonderful. It is these kids whom make this nation grand.

    Thank You.

  • Dirk December 15, 2022, 5:03 PM

CA, the grand boys are asking where you’ve been. They want a face to face over at the coast! Apparently you made a huge impact, this is like the third time they’ve asked about you in as many years.

  • Anne December 15, 2022, 8:59 PM

Let us never forget how many little boys have been drugged by elementary school teachers who were not qualified to be at the head of the class. Single women who were not well trained and had no intention of handling little boys. They come into this world different than us–that energy can by managed well or not. The NEA (National Education of America) and the so-called “doctors of psychiatry” have destroyed two generations of little boys. This began to go on in the early 1980s.

A kind of funny thing happened. An education specialist from Finland moved his family over to the US to study American education. When his frisky 3-year-old boy was recommended for medication that would calm him down, the expert moved the whole family immediately to Australia. He has a podcast on “The Art of Manliness” talking about children and their energy.

  • Carl Smith December 16, 2022, 5:35 AM

I know it was touched on before and I have loved Kaylee Rogers singing for years now but, this is the Cloverton version of Hallelujah. The Cohen and Cale versions are trash, IMHO. The Cloverton version is a Christian version.
