I’d imagine crack cocaine, cocoa butter, “xtra cripspee” KFC, watermelon, and the entire contents of a 15,000 gallon septic tank located in a 3rd world country.
What can one say? Lizzo gives a deeper, more profound meaning to the word “sheboon”. One wonders what is really going on in her head, what she truly believes about herself. What does she think when she espies a beautiful—and non adipose—woman of whatever color? We will never know. She is yet another example of ghetto culture—literally—in the flesh: vulgar, big-mouthed, grotesque, ugly. If Hip-hop music had an earthly form, hers would be it. Her public persona is nothing but an attack on real beauty—a denial of it, a hatred of it. She has absolutely no hope of true happiness, true contentment, true joy. Incidentally, if Lizzo were exactly the same size and appearance, but dressed like someone from the ’40s or ’50s and singing a beautiful cover of a classic song with the kind of wholesome innocence that doesn’t make the front page very often these days, I’d think her just as lovely as Ms. Young.
But then, I’d also be spared the mental picture of Lizzo diddling herself or whatever, and it’s amazing how much easier it is to think well of someone without that kind of imposed imagery getting in the way of any actual talent she may or may not possess.

Thank you very much, Gerard. Ghostsniper: it stands about 12″ tall, and it’s about the same width. The boulder weighed in at 75 pounds even when I started back in September, and I just put it on the shelf Wednesday. It kicked my butt. I haven’t weighed the finished piece. I appreciate the feedback. People always see stuff in these things that I never thought of. They’re sort of like 3D Rorschach tests.

Abstract art or no, there’s always something inspirational and elevating about a well-crafted, self-defined, cohesive work.
One thing I really like about it is that it’s both airy and rooted at the same time, if that makes sense. Sort of a “as it is above, so it is below” thing goin’ on …..
Nice piece, JWM. To my eyes, it almost appears as if something is coming alive out of that rock. How many hours, would you say, you put into that, and not just the carving hours, looking at waiting for it to tell you what it wanted to be, carving, polishing, etc. I’d put that as a center piece on my table.
Thanks, John. I couldn’t pin down the exact date, but I started that thing in the last week of September. It totaled about 140 days. I can’t really measure the time, since when I’m hanging around here at the suburban hermitage, working the stone is pretty much all I do. (yard looks like crap 😉 )
