Charleston was once the rage, uh huh
History has turned the page, uh huh
The mini skirts, the current thing, uh huh
Teenybopper is our newborn king, uh huh
And the beat goes on, the beat goes on
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

The Tractors for Trump participants might have gotten the idea from the tractor marches in the Netherlands and Germany last October protesting EU agricultural policies. The French followed with a tractor march in November. The European tractor parades were protests rather than a show of support for a political candidate, but nonetheless– a long line of tractors on a highway is impressive!

German protest (just one city; there were at least 17 across Germany):

I had forgotten that Cher had a short period in her life prior to the Kool Aid overdose.
The beat goes on because 9/19 is Talk Like a Pirate Day. “The International Talk Like a Pirate Day is a parody holiday. In German it is also known as saying-like-a-pirate-day. It was created in 1995 by the Americans John Baur (“Ol’ Chumbucket”) and Mark Summers (“Cap’n Slappy”) because of their romanticized-transfigured view of the so-called Golden Age of Piracy.” Ol’ Chumbucket got together with a fellow buccaneer named Tom Mason to produce the official “Talk Like a Pirate Song,” for all ye scurvy dogs and comely wenches aboard the good ship Vanderleun:

my wife worked with her in Palm Springs.
What’s the difference between a bass player and a pepperoni pizza?
The pizza can feed a family of four.
Carol was the exception, but I think she never toured.
Buddy Rich did a real nice version of The Beat goes on. That pounding drums of Buddy.
