Friday is the Official Gay-Lesbian STFU Day

Card Explaining the Silence of the Lambs

Day of Silence coming Friday, April 15
"Schools routinely claim that the Day of Silence is put together by students. But in fact, it's become a well-oiled machine organized by GLSEN's national offices."

[Editor's Note: Ah yes, the terrible silence of these past four decades when nobody has heard anything at all about the sad and tragic plight of gays in America who have no special holiday to commemorate their suffering. That terrible echoing utterly repressive silence haunts all straight Americans. I don't know about you, but I'd welcome our fellow gay and lesbian Americans if they just spoke up and told us how they feel and what they want. I just can't take any more of the endless and unremitting gay and lesbian silence in America. In solidarity with National Gay-Lesbian STFU Day I pledge not to say anything about Gay-Lesbian issues in America. I will, instead, write a strong letter to the government of Iran protesting their policy of hanging gays and lesbians in public, with a copy to that god of American gays and lesbians, Barack Obama, asking him to quit opposing gay marriage.]

To the Lavender Mafia: Visualize me ignoring you.

"The love that dare not speak its name" has become "the love that won't shut the hell up"!

Posted by: Skorpion at April 14, 2011 7:39 PM

if only the "day of silence" was a "year of silence."

But there are no gays and lesbians in Iran. The presidunce of Iran said so. At Columbia University. He wouldn't have said that at a university if he wasn't so smart.

Perhaps we can arrange for Obama to send half of our population of Gays, Lesbians and Indeterminates to Iran in a gesture of "Sustainability and Solidarity" to make up their shortage.

I'm so old I remember when DOS meant Disk Operating System.

Great, but do you remember 8 inch floppies?

Great, but do you remember 8 inch floppies?

I remember punch cards. I believe that was during the Middle Holocene, when I was in charge of calculating Solar angles for Stonehenge.

Please refrain in the future from using the terms "gay" and "well-oiled" in the same article. Thank You.

I'm not supposed to talk about what now?

Kobe's little "f**ing f*g" comment cost him $100K. Jessie hasn't learned how much his little outburst is going to cost but I'll bet it's a bundle. When the full force of government, institutions, big business and the law comes down on you for disrespecting homosexuals you know that the war is lost and there will be nothing denied them. That's what happens when we STFU. It's a shameful thing we've allowed to happen.

I can not only remember 8" floppies AND punch cards, but I can also remember when calling a man right-minded was universally regarded as a compliment.

8" floppies.
Punch cards.
Amber screens.
Sound cabinets for the printer.

Oy, those were the days.

Posted by: flyoverpilgrim at April 15, 2011 7:37 PM

Geez. I remember all that too. Does anyone still 'cut amber' anymore?
