I’d sure like to know the mentality at work with people who think this is an okay way for our country to function. I know they must be lacking in any useful long-term memory since, as I’ve written before, the newspaper headlines never really seem to change. “[Program/agency] in trouble! Budget shortfall! Wah!” And then there’s a tearjerker story of some sad sack who’s utterly, completely dependent on the government program who just doesn’t know what he or she is gonna do.

And why is it always one bone head that "needs" the gubernment program to survive? Why do THEY always find one or two to clutch at your heart strings to justify their programs?
Does one or two examples ALWAYS trump the 4 million responsible citizens rights? So the smallest minority of "troubled" folks will always dictate the structure of our country!??!!?
Why doesn't obama help those one or two folks with his money he received from his plagerized books? Then he could crow about how he really did something!

Jimmy I agree to a certain extent. THEY never seem to have success stories due to their programs. But, wouldn't it be great if they could at least get half of da 'po folk up above the poverty level? I mean, they could then say that their programs do work...and they will still have half of da 'po folk to screw around with!

The system neither wipes out the poor, the blacks or the idiots nor gets them above poverty. It just kills.
The megilla is a charlie foxtrot from either end. I seriously doubt they reproduce; instead they kidnap children from the hospital maternity ward to raise when their numbers drop too low.
