In America anything worth doing is worth overdoing:
Chicken-fried bacon is favorite fried fare at Texas state fair contest "Everything in Texas is chicken-fried, and bacon makes everything better so we thought we'd put the two together."

There was a marvelous episode of "King of the Hill" a while back where the Arlen City Council decide to do like the big cities in the Blue States and ban trans fats. In reaction, Hank Hill and his beer buddies operated an illegal "trans fat" truck selling deep-fried food. It was so wildly popular that even the council members started patronizing it, and -- when caught doing so by TV crews -- lifted the ban on trans fats.
