Your Say

Don't really need the lollipops or colored pencils, but that last pic looks like a great 2017 Christmas list!

That Spam ought to be tasty after a year in a screamin hot car trunk.

Well ghost, Spam made it through a lot of tropical islands in the WW2 Pacific, and according to an uncle of mine who was a hopper, it was the best thing that ever happened to him. Having been drafted off a midwest grain farm, he said it was the best unfeathered meat he'd ever had. Of course he went in a private and came out a PfC, so I don't know if that qualifies him as an expert.

Bolt cutters might come in handy.

@BillH, I never ate spam til I went in the army. The 5"x5"x about 2' long cans. LOL Got addicted to it instantly, and still. That army stuff was consumed so fast it didn't have time to *evolve* like it would in that 150 degree car trunk. If its round rather than square don't open it!

I keep a case of survival spam in the Yellowstone Caldera survival pack in the crawl space of my Rocky Mountain bunker. Stays 50 degrees all year. I pull a random can & test fry it every 6 months. Delicious!

MOTUS,

I love your website. A daily stop for me butt I shall not regress from the SPAM discussion. I wonder if ol Double Wide Michelle has ever had the pleasantry of such canned meat?

Ghost has lead a discussion off and on about the finer points of SPAM.

I think I meant "digress", butt it does not really matter.

I haven't eaten true Spam in years. Instead I buy the less expensive, but equally delectable Great Value (Walmart) brand. I think there's about 3 cans in one of the kitchen larders and many more in the large larder. I eat the stuff right out of the can, just grab a big spoon and dig right in.

When I'm going to slice it up and cook it I put the upside down, de-lidded can over a cutting board and sink my pointy assed slicing knife into the bottom of the can a couple time to release the vapor lock. Slides right out and no curse words are needed.

Slice it into 1/2"-3/4" slices and right into the screamin hot pan. That will sear the shit out of the outside and leave the inside soft and succulent. Whoa.

Slam one of them fried slices between the halves of a 9 grain roll with some dark mustard on 1 side and some horsey saw on the other. Get the fuk out of here. If you don't like that shit you ain't worth being around.

If you wanna take it all the way over the top throw a handful of them bread and butter pickle slices on there. Now you're cookin with gas.
