It took decades to blight Detroit and they worked really hard at it.

Anyone talking about reducing the size of government is either lying, crazy or terribly uninformed.
Reducing the size of the Federal government means reducing the size of the Imperial Capital. Fairfax County, on the Virginia side of the Potomac, has over a million souls. The District is roughly 600,000. Start adding up the populations attached to the capital and you get to five million. Expand out to include the entire Baltimore - Washington area --the two cities are slowly merging into a megalopolis-- you get close to ten million people. That's a lot of people with a reason to keep things as they are and maybe expand on them. Reducing the size of government is like saying we will reduce the size of Los Angeles or Manhattan. This sort of thing can only happen if the city falls on hard times or is sacked by invaders. It took decades to blight Detroit and they worked really hard at it. Their people are low-IQ morons. the Federal government is stocked with smart and clever people who know how to keep the party going. Any and all attempts to reduce the flow of cash into the city will be thwarted. Travelogue: The Imperial Capital

Your Say

Hmm. Impossible? Well, you know what was said about Trump's chances of winning. The impossible is only slightly harder and time-consuming than the mere difficult.

It starts with pink slips.

It's not about them, it's about you.

Or, it should be.

Unless slavery is your thing.

They can't take your money unless you play their game.

Why would any sane person do that?

If you knew a certain street had criminals that rob people every day would you regularly walk on that street?

Play your own game, grow a pair.

Decentralize. Send departments and agencies to Tulsa Okla, Grand Forks NoDak, Savannah GA, Lincoln Nebraska, Las Cruces NM, Lake City FL, and so forth. Spread the wealth around.

With telecommunications as they are, connecting the widespread offices shouldn't be too difficult.

The location of NASA facilities was heavily influenced by the desire to keep key House and Senate members happy. The same game can still be played with the relocation of agency functions.

Beef up the Inspector Generals office in each Agency.
Tell the ADA's that their chance of promotion is a factor of uncovering theft and corruption in Govt Agencies.
Announce that anyone convicted of theft, conversion or other felonies will be fired and lose all accrued benefits.

Then just stand back: 20% gone in 2 years.
