Your Say

Is that kid wearing empty holsters?

This is an up north domicile.
In-swing exterior door.
Southern exterior doors swing out, cause of the hurricanes.
Most likely an apartment.
Narrow entry corridor, no glass in the door.
Stupid owner. No peephole. No shotgun.

With all due respect ghost, I've been in literally thousands of central and south AL houses, large and small, old and new, and can't recall ever encountering an out-swinging exterior door.

One thing I don't like about the out-swinging doors in the deep south swamps is the animal hide hinges. Too easy to cut with a sharp knife. A couple of quick swipes and the door falls off. :)

@BillH, if the building is in an area effected by hurricanes all exterior penetrations must be capable of sustaining 200 mph wind velocities. I am not aware of any in-swing exterior doors capable of that.

I have spent the past 40 years designing over 3000 buildings and I'm working on 4 presently and all will exceed the building codes.

My guess is that door opens onto an enclosed corridor in a larger building.
