A new real estate listing in the Outer Mission neighborhood of the city has a dilapidated 765-square-foot wood siding home for sale for $350,000. The two bedroom and one bathroom California dwelling sits on a 1,633-square-foot lot on 16 De Long Street in the city. | Daily Mail Online

Well, if someone who peddles phone apps to teenagers and millenials will pay you $500k per to work 16 hours a day developing those apps, it would be worth it to have a place to flop close by. You don't have any time to spend that $500k any other way, and when that job vaporizes, you can unload the dump on a new sucker, if you're still alive.

That's a pile of money for 0.03 acre. It works out to $12 million for an acre. When you add demolition, permit, & construction costs you're better off buying a $3million row house.

Whatever one thinks of the hipsters now being driven out, they, and most especially those among them with actual talent, have added vitality to the city. Silicone Valley is bleaching out the soul of SF.

My young musician friends are heading for L.A. It's a bad bargain in that they'll always be "'Frisco Girls," but without the backdrop.
