One of the strongest forces in the world in recent decades has also been one of the least discussed: class solidarity among billionaires.

Now, you might think that having a billion dollars would free you to indulge in a Trump-like blast of a good time telling unwelcome truths. But in reality, we largely have a highly disciplined class of the extremely rich, who gather frequently in Davos and Aspen to be informed of the latest talking points about why any resistance to them is racist.-- Stumbling Upon a Worthy Cause

Your Say

Or rather 'crass solidarity.'
Crass being a sandwich of crap twixt the buttocks of ass.
Trump excludes himself from that deli delight and feeds on fools.

The Bilderberg/Davos/Aspen Plutocrats and "Trade-Federation Members" better wise up real quick about the Totalitarians, Crony Capitalism, and Oligarchs as the wealthy will be merely anohter pawn to be disposed of when tyranny overtakes the enlightened Republican form of government we have today (For a 'safe' and secure, society, of course...).

When it comes to 'pure, unadulterated, power', money is simply not a potent enough aphrodesiac and these rapacious fools will only learn this when its too late.

Turning the 1st world into a 3rd world Shit-hole is not a smart move. If they want the US to turn into Brazil, or the Dominican Republic, or Pakistan, then these Super-wealthy need to move there (and stay there!!!!) and enjoy the ENTIRE PACKAGE of what its like to live in one of those countries. The entire package is not just have all these 'stupid minions' to order around, but also hob-nob with the powerful who rule those countries. Get a nice big snootful of the latter and then back back to the 1st world and tell us how life is treating them.

A capitalist society the rich become powerful, while in a socialist society the powerful become rich.

Maybe we have been looking at the wrong revolution. How about the French Revolution? There are a number of similarities between that time and our present situation.

The (French) government was deeply in debt and attempted to restore its financial status through unpopular taxation schemes. Years of bad harvests leading up to the Revolution also inflamed popular resentment of the privileges enjoyed by the clergy and the aristocracy.
Rising social inequality, new political ideas emerging from the Enlightenment, economic mismanagement, environmental factors leading to agricultural failure, unmanageable national debt and political mismanagement on the part of (King Louis XVI) have all been cited as laying the groundwork for the revolution.

(Necker) realized that the country's extremely regressive tax system subjected the lower classes to a heavy burden, while numerous exemptions existed for the nobility and clergy. He argued that the country could not be taxed higher; that tax exemptions for the nobility and clergy must be reduced; and proposed that borrowing more money would solve the country's fiscal shortages.

Gotta start somewhere. Insert some names and places and we have a reasonable fit with our current condition.

Many (Parisians) presumed (Louis's) actions to be aimed against the Assembly and began open rebellion when they heard the news the next day. They were also afraid that arriving soldiers – mostly foreign mercenaries – had been summoned to shut down the (National Constituent Assembly. The Assembly, meeting at Versailles,) went into nonstop session to prevent another eviction from their meeting place. (Paris) was soon consumed by riots, chaos, and widespread looting. The mobs soon had the support of some of the (French Guard), who were armed and trained soldiers.

I realize comparisons always fall short but ponder for a while. Instead of throwing tea into the harbor how about erecting a guillotine?

Chas: "Gotta start somewhere."
=================

Two steps.
1) Stop stealing.
2) Stop lying.

This is basic stuff, but they are both ignored or dismissed, but they underscore everything else.

Infractions of either-or will be justified by swift and stern penalty-punishment within 30 days of infraction, no exceptions, ever.

This should be universal for every human on the planet. Like it is now for you and me.

Lying - Fraud
Stealing - Theft

Both are crimes for us and should be for all others, no exceptions, ever.

I've seen rioting here where I live, guys...

Though there MAY be legitimate reasons for an angry group of people to gather, what happens is it becomes COVER for those who... just want to break stuff. Angry mobs ALLOW for burning stuff, tipping over cars, breaking windows ... whatever they FEEL like doing.

From what I have seen, I'm against the whole 'angry mob' idea... unless the 'mob' has their own enforcement to weed out troublemakers - like the Tea-partiers, did (Unlike any liberal mob).
