On the controversial 9/11 image known as ”The Falling Man”

AHL: Why did you make a film about this particular photograph?

HS: Because it essentially disappeared.
It ran in many newspapers on the day after 9/11. In the film we go to a newspaper called the Morning Call in Allentown Pennsylvania. In the film, the photo editor, Naomi Halperin, talks about how striking the image was. There were so many images coming across the wire that day but this one stood out for her because it encapsulated the horror of the day.

Your Say

OK, this one serious: this picture depicts what Muslims have done and are doing and will do to anyone outside their belief system. There are other graphic pictorial examples and I will not iterate them but they all show the same thing: the Muslims are a blood-thirsty people at the same level as Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, Idi Amin, &c.

The photo causes cognitive dissonance and a massive state of denial by many in our country. Rather than address the photos and the nature of Muslims the sympathizers want the picture to go away; it must be expunged.

I see the images and recite the names like a litany: mecca. medina, riyadh, qom,teheran,bahdad,cairo,damascus,tripoli...

We should have nuked 'em off the planet.
