Hanauma dreaming / On such a winter's day....

SNORKELING: Obama and his family went to Hanauma Bay, a popular snorkeling area closed to the public on Tuesdays. As they arrived, about two dozen onlookers gathered along a highway turnoff to take pictures.

SHAVE ICE: In the afternoon, Obama went with his daughters to a local Kailua shop for shave ice. The president ordered cherry and lemon-lime flavors for his dessert, then shook hands with some of about two dozen people crowded in a roped-off area outside a nearby pizzeria in the tiny strip mall near the beach. Your Say

Artificial flavor... no in the snow cone.

Hmmm... tastes different than the yellow snow back in DC.

To the rest of the world, it is shaved ice

Dear Hawaii, I have never asked you for anything. When I visited I never stole any rocks, I always tipped well, and I was friendly to the waitstaff and service employees (no matter how they sneered at my brand new Hawaiian shirt with matching Hat band).
Please just this once can we have a major eruption?
Your volcano has been working hard, chugging along for what now 20 years? How about one big eruption and it takes say, the next ten years off? Nothing major like Krakatoa, I wouldn't want you to put yourself out; rather a President engulfing lava spew that lasts for two, three days. That's all I ask.
You know he's going to visit the volcano. Probably by boat. Look, do me a solid. One big eruption, try to blast him into orbit. You Know, Hot Lava + Prezzie = Happy America.
Do your duty Hawaii. We need you to take one for the team.
