I understand the manliness and independence that this picture represents. Peoples like this will survive.
But, I see a destroyer of civilizations. (Genghis, Hublia, Attila, Timur etc. ) It is a message to me that we need to keep up our warrior skills.

@Joan: you should accustom yourself to riding for hours on end on wooden saddles attached to small ponies, a very different experience from western saddles on quarterhorses, and develop an abiding taste for fermented yak milk. (Frankly, I prefer fresh camel milk.)
Like practically all dreams of this sort, the glamour wears off almost instantaneously.
