Spy vs FBI: "Petraeus was outed by the FBI

spy-vs-spy.jpg
who “stumbled across” evidence of the affair while investigating a computer security problem.
Meaning they hacked Petraeus’ email account and read through the archives looking for dirt, which was then used to destroy Petraeus after he and CIA refused to go along with the Benghazi coverup, and to discredit any testimony he might ever give on the matter. No doubt his coterie at CIA have all somehow been likewise neutered. And Holder—who supervises the FBI—will now retire, so that any role he might have played in this will henceforth be a dead letter. Same for Hillary." --- A theory of Petraeus's retirement
[So much for the "security" of the CIA's communication systems, what?]

Your Say

Does anyone really believe this stupid story? This was the perfect way out for Petraus. My money is on that he set the operation up for staging an apolitical withdrawal.

Petraus is a pro at walking between factions and he's not too proud to look foolish if it serves his interest.

No, this one bit does match up considering that the affair was reportedly over by the time he started at the CIA.

It was only once he began to chase her again that he made his fatal mistake.

Petraeus probably tried to hide the gmail account during a routine security screen/polygraph. Such an account would be problematic for any significant authority - archiving requirements if nothing else - to sya nothing of him being America's head spook.

That would instantly raise flags and spur a formal investigation.

The first job of counterintelligence is keeping an eye on your own people. I'm sure this played a hand in his earlier Benghazi testimony, and I'm sure the Obama administration orchestrated his exit to destroy any further credibility on the matter.

The only possible silver lining in all of this is that the CIA wasn't so inept as to have him actually having an active affair while heading the agency.

Don't think so edaddy but that is a good one. He's certainly smart enough and he is a political animal but it's starting to look like either somebody ratted him out or it's a simple case of thinking with the wrong head. Doesn't matter, he will testify. Personally I like the one where the FBI goes after the CIA because numbnuts ordered it thinking that will save his ass.

The administration is administering the "payback" that Valerie Jarrett said would be administered.

However you slice the cheese, he's gone. Under the bus. Sent to Coventry. One more stone in Leviathan's Wall.

They say "Dead men tell no tales". A more refined version of dead is invalid.

File-checkers can do it: imagine where any of us would be if they just, er, lost our tax files. Or a couple keystrokes and all our Social Security records go off into the Siberia of cyberspace.

Bank sez: "sorry sir, you got zero balance". "Er, well, there must be some mistake" you say. "We'll look into it, get back to ya" they sez, and give you a thin-lipped beady-eyed glare as you leave the office.

Meanwhile they leave all the sensitive documents laying around the consulate unsecured.

Seems like just a few short years ago a President could have an affair and no one would care. Now a general has an affair and he is forced to retire. That is progress.

The fbi uses improper relationships to ruin people or to blackmail them, including presidents, congress and military chiefs. In this respect the fbi is a direct and continuing threat to the country that they (fbi/cia)corrupt.

The United States Of America Is Unworthy To Defend and is a global criminal & murderous enterprise bent on world inhumane domination.
