The American Totalist Party

Rahm%26Benito.jpg
Fascism is a child of the Left. Benito Mussolini, the century's preeminent fascist, invented the word to describe his national political system. As a young man, Mussolini was politically groomed and nurtured by Marxists....
Back to the Democrats and Chick-fil-A. Of particular interest is the authority fascism holds over private business. Unlike communism, fascism does not as principle confiscate and nationalize private business, but it reserves the right to do so. Generally, businesses may operate as they please as long as they do not offend the ideology of the state. --Sense of Events:

Your Say

Every democrat is a fascist.

I guess if I’m gonn’a take Mr. Sensing to task for a post I found…let’s just say…less than to my liking, I should give credit when he writes something good.

Well done.

One small contention, I wish he had backed up his statement -”Of course there are "Totalists" on the Right, too. IMO, Rick Santorum isn't far from it.” - with examples of such.

To merely put forth by itself is…well,it only leaves the reader to wonder.

Hey, wait, give me a minute and I'll write a book about that!

tim - Santorum strikes me as toward that side of the spectrum. Certainly not as far as Emanuel or Obama.

Jonah - Right, you should! Oh, wait, you did, and I linked to it in my post, just not the part that Gerard excerpted.

Both Mrs. Goldberg and Sensing have hit the nail on the head. Now, if we could just make it required reading for all those who don't understand that socialism, fascism, communism, and islamism are all just variations on the same theme. I have tried to explain this and have recommended Jonah's book to many conservatives and independents who just can't quite grasp the principle.

Memo to self: Don't give up. Link to Donald Sensing's post.

Where are the Usual Suspects sputtering and bloviating that fascism can only be *right* wing totalitarianism, 'cuz they said so?

*pssst* -- Jimmy! Not "Joan," "Jonah"...

Another feature of fascism is the cozy relationship between government and "captains of industry", i.e., a form of crony capitalism. Sound familiar? And while the government in a fascist state may not own the businesses, it has no problem telling them what to produce, in what quantities, and at what price. Why trouble yourself with running industries when you can order them to make what you want?
