"People such as Bill O’Reilly—who might be described as a mouthpiece for 'the alternative left' "

oreillyawesomethunderbolt.jpeg

The government social engineering that was congressionally approved in the 1960s for advancing blacks and women has now been extended to other victim groups, and there’s no way to stop the process.
It just goes on and on, with ever more intrusive tactics being applied to bring everyone into line. This is not fascism, with due respect to my libertarian friends who insist that it is. Mussolini, for all his rhetoric about the state’s majesty, would never have engaged in the present insane attempt to stand society on its head by placing homosexuals beyond criticism and by pushing the private sector into showering them with jobs. The alternative left does not really object to such arrangements provided they can elect Romney as our next president and get on with important things such as carpet-bombing Iran and filling patronage jobs with party loyalists. -- Chick-fil-A Eats Crow - Taki's Magazine

Your Say

Best suggestion I have heard recently is for CNN to put Mark Styne on opposite blowhard Oreilly, and destroy him. It would put Fox on notice that they have to earn our attention and put a great conservative wit in the eye of the low-info voters. Unfortunately it might also help CNN survive.

Styne is not a good radio-tv guy; O'Really is at home on tv. Few great minds are great tv, but many an empty head was made for it. Obvious examples abound. It is a terrible medium for reflection, an excellent one for propaganda. Great minds with great messages can only succeed on tv if they are successful in converting their thought into sound bites.

Great minds are useful to we proletarians only if they can express their thought in clear, succinct language we can comprehend, i.e. sound bites. Otherwise, they had best stick with their own tribe.

How can you guys disagree with me after I said it twice? Well?

Posted by: Sherlock at July 29, 2012 4:04 PM

Well, Sherlock, you could do what libs do in these same circumstances: say it louder and louder. If that doesnn't work, stomp your feet and bang a sippy cup. If that doesn't work, just start screaming "racist!" at whomever disagrees with you.
I don't know if it works or not; I tend to tune them out.

O'Reilly is populist, he's the voice of the vaguely political guy who says 'we should just make a law so everyone has a job!' then thinks he's brilliant.

Steyn is hilarious. You really have to be quick to get him. Replace O'Really with Steyn.
