Obama's "Use By" Date Has Passed

It is in the nature of charisma
that it rises out of thin air, out of need and distress, and then dissipates when the magic fails. The country has had its fill with a scapegoating that knows no end from a president who had vowed to break with recriminations and partisanship. The magic of 2008 can't be recreated, and good riddance to it. Slowly, the nation has recovered its poise. There is a widespread sense of unstated embarrassment that a political majority, if only for a moment, fell for the promise of an untested redeemer—a belief alien to the temperament of this so practical and sober a nation. -- Fouad Ajami: The Obsolescence of Barack Obama - WSJ.com What can one say? Aliens have alien beliefs.

Your Say

Hype fades. It always does. And then the styrofoam columns are packed away and all that is left are a couple of people sweeping up the confetti.

That full-on bullshitter never had any real charisma. The fools that voted for him saw what they wanted regardless of reality. Now that he has totally screwed up our economy, our world standing, our relationships with our allies, our health care system, our banking system, our border security, our Supreme Court . . . they no longer see what they want to see in him. It never was there, those voters deluded themselves. I wanted to slap them, shake them, scream at them - but they were lost in the koolaid.
