Bad Global Idea #346,769

"We are building a world in which the wealthiest nations on the planet, from Norway to New Zealand, are all but defenseless, while bankrupt dysfunctional squats go nuclear. Even with inevitable and generous submissions to nuclear blackmail, how long do you think that arrangement will last?" -Mark Steyn (via Word Around the Net: Quote of the Day )

Your Say

It lasts so long as the USA stands as the back-stop. When the USA ceases to do that it will not usher in a world of peace; it will usher in a world of sheeps and wolves - and some of those sheep will go wolf pretty damn fast.

Japan is in a downward spiral - but given enough encouragement it will go all-Japan again - nukes, carriers, babies, and Samurai. Just in time for China to do a periodic political breakdown.

And Japanese intervention won't be for empire - oh no - it will be for 'regional stability' and to 'secure loose nuclear weapons'. And we will push the Japanese to do that. We will reset things to 1904.

Woodrow Wilson may have been smart - but Caesar's World, Kipling's World - overpowers all.
