Media Kept Well Away as Obama Clashes With Gays and Lesbians in Washington, L.A. - Big Journalism At today's demonstration in Lafayette Park across from the White House by members of GetEQUAL, a new gay-rights group protesting the"Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy regarding gays in the military, Secret Service and Metro D.C. police kept reporters far, far away, peremptorily closing the park.

W embedded reporters with troops in Iraq where they really were at risk to life and limb. O sends out the cops to push back reporters when a handful of troops peacefully chain themselves to a fence.

What was that about a free press? Oh - that's just that pesky 1st Amendment thing again. Never mind.
