I don't know about you but I'm off to the Silver Dollar Fair to worship at the shrine of the once and future Corn Dog Queen.
And her royal court:

Give my regards to your mother.
Posted by: Rob De Witt at May 26, 2017 9:27 PMJust put out the flag. Jui jitsu with the kids then gonna smoke some ribs. America! Have a good weekend all!
Posted by: Snakepit Kansas at May 27, 2017 5:51 AMMine is the best. Wifey and youngest daughter went to Destin for the weekend to visit our son and his wife's family. Sweet solitude.
Posted by: billH at May 27, 2017 7:39 AMJust heard the parade go past my house up the hill on Main Street. The calliope lingered a bit, sounding like a drunken ice cream truck. Somehow, patriotic music played on an out of tune calliope seemed appropriate. Made me think of my childhood in Scottsbluff in the early 70s. Man did they have grand parades in that little town. Those days are surely gone.

Posted by: Plastc prunes at May 27, 2017 8:59 AMSo Marie Harf is the new CornDog Queen? Suits her.

itor, spreading joy where'er he goes....
Posted by: Rob De Witt at May 29, 2017 12:01 PMAt least the gals really selling corn dogs are making and honest living.
My kids recently commented on some dude on the side of the street holding some advertisement sign. They didn't think much of him, but I reminded them that at least the guy is working. Maybe that is all he can do. Much better than the BS artists at the side of the road with the cardboard signs playing on our sympathies.
Posted by: Snakepit Kansas at May 29, 2017 5:04 PMI took my son to SF, CAli, to see a museum exhibit. He rode on the sideboard of the cable car up and doooown the hills. It was priceless. These skaters made me think of that (I'd like to see them take the boards down Nob Hill).
