Jihadists are going to keep on jihading - with or without the Progs support of the Second Amendment. So I ask you, if you happen upon a jihadist in full body armor walking towards you on Main Street U.S.A. which storefront “Safe-Place” would you dart into?

As the story unfoldedthe political sides were likean audience agonizing at a cliffhanger. Would it be white male Christian? Would it be a Muslim? Would it be an American? Would it be a foreigner? One could almost sense the bated breath.

Nobody was quite ready for such an ambiguous result: American citizen with Middle Eastern-sounding name who worked for the California shoots up a Christmas party with relatives in tow. That suits nobody's book completely, a fact which underscored a struggle parallel to events on the ground. Even as the cops were embarked on the physical pursuit of the suspects, a corresponding struggle for its significance was underway across the Internet

Perhaps it is fair to say that it is now impossible to commit a simple murder or even an outrage as an individual act. It's all imbued with meaning, almost as if the conflict between the cops and the perps were overshadowed by a far larger fight: Right versus Left in America.

Dictators’ dinners: The eating habits of infamous leaders

KIM JONG-IL 1942 - 2011

The North Korea leader was “the world’s most foodie dictator” who had a love for all things gourmet. The owner of a library filled with cookbooks, it’s said he often sent his personal chef on missions all over the world to find the latest delicacies such as Iranian caviar, Danish pork, Thai mangoes and Japanese rice cakes. He was a stickler for perfection and staff were told that nothing remotely sub-standard should pass their leader’s lips. This might explain why he employed a small army of women to see that every grain of rice destined for his plate was uniform in size, shape and colour.

According to Pol Pot’s former chef, the Khmer Rouge leader enjoyed “simple country food” such as wild boar, venison and even snake washed down with brandy and Chinese wine. For the snake dish however there was one recipe for cobra stew which he was particularly fond of. First the cobra must be killed and its head severed. It should then be hung from a tree well out of the reach of any children, in order that any poison dries out in the sun. The snake blood should be collected in a cup and served accompanies by white wine. Next, the cobra must be chopped into pieces and mashed to a pulp with a handful of peanuts before being placed in a pot of boiling water with some lemon grass, some bitter vine leave and some ground ginger, and allowed to simmer for at least an hour.

The Long Cold Civil War |

If it takes 17 years of unbroken failure, misery, violence and ruin to persuade once-rich Venezuelans that left wing promises don't work it will take a whole lot more than a few deaths at a San Bernardino community center for true believers to abandon Barack Obama's ideology. The forces which enabled global terrorism are so invested in their fantasy world that little is likely to stop it until it burns itself out.

One can only hope the fever drives out the disease before it kills the patient. We are now told that the San Bernardino attackers wore GoPro cameras to capture their killing moments, in order that they and others might relive and enjoy the carnage at the Christmas party. [The GoPro report has since been denied] How can anything survive against such relentless hate?

How can anything survive on it? Fantasy is treacherous ground. Facts -- also known as the Truth or the Light -- have an inconvenient way of burning through the darkness. Anyone who walks upon a road of lies will sink into it. They will lose their prosperity, sense of superiority and security until they will walk for miles simply to find a single roll of toilet paper. Ask the Venezuelans.

Sad news from San Francisco, today. It seems Mark Zuckerberg, who has by age thirty or so amassed a fortune of some forty-five billion (thousand million) electronic dollars with his “Facebook” obscenity, intends to loose “99 percent” of this holding. He and his paediatrician wife, Priscilla Chan, announced this in the most sick-making, sentimental way they could think of: framing it as a letter to their (presumably illiterate) newborn daughter. Their huge fortune is now earmarked (if they are telling the truth) to “advancing human potential and promoting equality” — i.e. the usual smug liberal and progressive stodge. I stagger to think of the harm so much money may do.
