Sunday was such a time. For there were chickens running about:
And, behind the barrier, there were chicks. You know . . . chicks:

Posted by: Jewel at April 14, 2011 12:28 PMMy neighbor had a small flock of Rhode Island reds once. They got out of his cage (all his animals eventually escape) and became free range liberated chickens. We had at that time a 14 lb tom whose was a fierce hunter. He even caught/killed/ate full grown rabbits. However, he was no match for the roosters in this flock, and they had no problem facing him down. The local coyotes finally cleaned them up.

Posted by: Jewel at April 14, 2011 8:38 PMI tried putting a leash and collar on my cat a few years ago.
Another month or so of physical therapy and I should have full use of my hand again.
Posted by: B. Moe at April 15, 2011 2:56 PMWhat a peaceable kingdom. I've never tried a cat leash but we walked our Umbrella Cockatoo on a leash regularly. My sister loved to refer to her as our "expensive chicken". That bird could handle both of our 16-lb cats just fine.
