Facing subscription cancellations in the thousands over his newspaper's pre-election mugging of Schwarznegger, editor John Carroll issued this lame claim:
"In the long run, I believe this will strengthen the paper's relationship with the readers," he said, because they will respect the paper's commitment to the truth.But will they respect you in the morning, or just stiff you the price of a paper and walk?
