I lusted after the high peaks of the Peruvian Andes. Those were the days of El Sendero Luminoso, murderous filthy commie scum (is there any other kind?) who preyed upon adventure travelers, killing the lucky ones, and robbing the unfortunates to their skivvies far out in the mountains. To get to the commies, the traveler first had to run the gauntlet of hordes of cutpurses, pickpockets and ordinary bandits.
The closest I ever got was Ecuador. We met wild-eyed gringos coming from Peru who regaled us with first-hand tales of the chaos they had experienced, and the extreme measures required to survive. Peru was no place to be schlepping large duffels of mountain gear, and negotiating transport with skeevy locals. Might as well have been carrying loud signs “Rich estadounidenses right here. Please rob and kill and put us out of our misery before the next guy does.”
I reckon my risk aversion is stronger than my lusts. I’m still not sure I made the best choice, but at least I’m still here.

In the same vein, the story this past 2 weeks of the grieving Killer Whale cow. Seriously? One Seattle Times writer had them as endangered. I looked it up; they are not on the endangered list. A flotilla of concerned scientistalists sortied out to “help” and study the grief stricken whale. Now, someone in Seattle is suing the US to get them on the endangered list. Why? because they “feel” deeply. Got that? A predator “feels deeply.” Shit. I knew the story was going somewhere. Now, I’m just waiting to see what the next bullshit trick is.
The arguments with the left are pointless.

So submittants to the ROP and residents of *holistan have “moral agency”. I guess that’s what it’s called when all cultures and religions are equally valid.
Either there are absolutes, or there aren’t. Either some acts are always evil, or nothing is evil. The lions are not evil because they do not have moral agency. Neither do the wolves who sometimes engage in indiscriminate livestock killing. But we kill the “bad” wolves, while tolerating the lurkers in the far forest who have learned to stay away from human stuff.
I lusted after the high peaks of the Peruvian Andes. Those were the days of El Sendero Luminoso, murderous filthy commie scum (is there any other kind?) who preyed upon adventure travelers, killing the lucky ones, and robbing the unfortunates to their skivvies far out in the mountains. To get to the commies, the traveler first had to run the gauntlet of hordes of cutpurses, pickpockets and ordinary bandits.
The closest I ever got was Ecuador. We met wild-eyed gringos coming from Peru who regaled us with first-hand tales of the chaos they had experienced, and the extreme measures required to survive. Peru was no place to be schlepping large duffels of mountain gear, and negotiating transport with skeevy locals. Might as well have been carrying loud signs “Rich estadounidenses right here. Please rob and kill and put us out of our misery before the next guy does.”
I reckon my risk aversion is stronger than my lusts. I’m still not sure I made the best choice, but at least I’m still here.

We reject our responsibilities for appropriate timely action, and so we do too little, too late, too foolishly, and then ascribe the horrible consequences to the evil in men.
As a society we are slothful in responding properly to massive, somewhat distant danger. Witness Western Europe’s continuing paralysis in the face of the Muslim perversion invasion. Easier to call Them evil than to take preventive action now.
Do we still not appreciate that loyalty to the Umma, to promoting soft and hard Jihad, is the only salvation for orthodox, fundamentalist Muslims.
Are the 109 immutable, dominating, demanding! Koran verses of antipathy toward non-Muslims insufficient? Was Mein Kampf a comic book?
Our rights without responsibilities leave our lives meaningless. The voracious weevil of our irresponsibility is the evil we foist off on others, is the make-believe evil of which Jay Austin speaks — grave remarks, indeed.

There is not much difference between the pix of the pansy antifas and the pansy ISIS killers. Without the masks, they are just nomal somewhat nerdy guys. But put on the mask and in a group you have impulsive violence, cruel torture, unreasoning hatred.
