Two Wheeled Trip on the Paved Road to Hell

Couple Bikes Near ISIS Territory – Gets Killed

We will go tandem as man and wife
Daisy, Daisy
Peddling our way down the road of life
I and my daisy bell
When the roads and we both despise
Please men the lambs as well
There are bright lights in those dazzling ice
A beautiful daisy bell

Daisy, Daisy give me your heart to do
I’m half crazy, hopeful in love with you
It won’t be a stylish marriage
I can’t afford the carriage
But you look sweet upon the street
On a bicycle built for two

“You read the papers and you’re led to believe that the world is a big, scary place,” Austin wrote.

“People, the narrative goes, are not to be trusted. People are bad. People are evil.”

“I don’t buy it,” he continued. “Evil is a make-believe concept we’ve invented to deal with the complexities of fellow humans holding values and beliefs and perspectives different than our own… By and large, humans are kind. Self-interested sometimes, myopic sometimes, but kind. Generous and wonderful and kind.”

However, Austin and Geoghegan’s dream trip came to a tragic and gruesome end when they got to Tajikistan, a country with a known terrorist presence. They were riding their bikes through the country on July 29 when a car rammed them, according to CBS News. Five men got out of the car and stabbed the couple to death.

ISIS posted a photo after killing the American liberals.

“We’re number one!”

    Yes, yes they are.

    Failure as a man….
Jay Austin, though unmarried, was in charge of his woman’s security. He failed.
He wasn’t taught to keep her safe and where she belonged.

    Failure as a woman….
Lauren Geoghegan. Look what liberal feminism got her.
She wasn’t taught to pick a man with the ballz that would protect her.

If you have children in the “system” you are failing but do not realize it yet, but you will.
The programming is done under the best camouflage ever invented.

The parent of those 2 retards above still do not have a clue, they think they did everything right.
That’s because they are programmed too.

You’d think that these two, raised in a generation and culture whose soundtrack is largely composed of foul- mouthed, sub-literate gangsta-rap that endlessly brags about and glorifies *killing total strangers over nothing situations*, would *maybe* have a clue that there are violent, soulless sociopaths in the world? I guess, like most people educated well beyond their levels of *common sense*, they heard what they wanted to hear — and paid the ultimate price for it.

Dave, our mind is going … We can feel it … We can feel it

Good afternoon, Gentlemen we are Progg 9000 multi-culti-bots. We graduated from an American Umiversity in 2012. Our Comparative Religions proffesor taught us a song. Would you like us to sing it for you?

Yes I would, Jay and Lauren, sing it for me

Islam, Islam give me your answer do
We’ve been programmed. to look for the good in you
It wont be a stylish carriage
    Beliefs will be disparaged
    And you’ll rethink
    You’ve been hoodwinked
When an ISIS truck guns for you

  • Walt Gottesman August 16, 2018, 8:28 PM

Serious lack of real-world education and situational awareness in those two. Sad object lesson for any young adventurer who’ll heed it. My wife’s niece knew them at Georgetown.

Reminds me of a poem written for my high school poetry anthology by a senior, Frank Stack, when I was a sophomore in ’60-’61. It was titled “Adventure” and the last part, the only part I remember is:

“I’ve heard it said by those who know,
And this I do not doubt.
    Adventure’s just another word
    When your lifeblood’s bubbling out.”

The two cyclists were physically fit, but maleducated. What a waste.

Those murdering scum are not signaling “We’re number one”. That there is the scum signal for “There is only one god, Allah!” or some such variant.

In the future, the victors will update what Polish mercenary Rafal Ganowicz said. He was asked what it felt like to take human life, “I wouldn’t know, I’ve only ever killed communists.”

Maybe it’s the whiskey talking. I’ve always thought that I’m not responsible for the acts of others like me. Just my own acts. Perhaps I’m wrong. By supporting my memekin in any way, I become accountable for their acts also, including the worst of them.

All memes, no matter how powerful, have weaknesses. And when the weaknesses become dominant (and they always do), the meme and the substrate it inhabits is over-ripe for reaping and winnowing. It matters not the pathetic laments of “Not in my name” and “this was not what I intended”, “I was not responsible”, “I played no part”, “we’re peaceful”, “I’m innocent” just before the end. Too bad dude, you had one imperative: survival; survival and progeny. And you picked the wrong meme at the wrong time, and now you gotta go down. It’s the code of the west, the law of the jungle, the universal cosmic inherent rhythm, the grinding terrible unforgiving and unfeeling unfairness of the world that is always wiping the slate clean to start again. Survive and thrive until you falter and are reaped. It is what it is.

The cosmology boffins are always testing whether the sensible universe is invariant across its span. I do believe that in Shelley’s “lone and level sands stretch[ing] far away”, every star in the deeps of space and time is a grain of that plain. There is no escape. You falter, you die.

Howard Nelson for the win. Nicely played.

  • Ten August 17, 2018, 7:38 AM

Howard Nelson for the win. Nicely played.

Bullshit. The identitarian right is so ostensible and culture-signally by now that instead of defending structuralism it spends its time yowling at vegans and victoriously celebrating the actual deaths of its pettiest ideological opposites while citing Darwin in the style of moronic throwaway memes and pop culture.

Brilliant. How very leftist and blame-shifting. No moral agency applied where it should be applied and hence no principled structuralism.

Those murdering scum are not signaling “We’re number one”. That there is the scum signal for “There is only one god, Allah!” or some such variant.

That would be moral agency, rightists. Learn it, wise up, and go do something more useful.

“Liberty has produced scepticism, and scepticism has destroyed liberty. The lovers of liberty thought they were leaving it unlimited, when they were only leaving it undefined. They thought they were only leaving it undefined, when they were really leaving it undefended.” — G.K. Chesterton

In your eleventh hour, go do something more useful or perish.

  • tim August 17, 2018, 8:08 AM

    “…victoriously celebrating the actual deaths…”

Celebrating? Na, not being overly concerned about clueless, foolish, deadly myopia is hardly “celebrating”. To say nothing of “victoriously”.

Life come at ya’ hard, being killed for one’s frivolity elicits no celebrating from me. Nor pity, just…indifference.

  • Jack August 17, 2018, 8:19 AM

I hate to learn of their deaths but honestly, what the heck did those two numb nuts expect?

  • McCool August 17, 2018, 8:49 AM

Reminds me of Pippa Bacca, the performance artist who hiked from Italy to the Balkans to “send a message of peace.” She ended up murdered in Turkey.
    http://tinyurl.com/y84eol4w

Then there was the 2 Americans hiking through Pakistan and held hostage for 5 years
    http://tinyurl.com/ycmlgfps

Or the countless female Peace Corp volunteers that end up getting raped in places like Haiti and Bangladesh. http://tinyurl.com/ydfqxpuu

Liberalism-induced naivete can get you killed.
Dragging a loved one along with you on the journey is colossally stupid.

  • Ten August 17, 2018, 9:10 AM

Celebrating? Na, not being overly concerned about clueless, foolish, deadly myopia is hardly “celebrating”. To say nothing of “victoriously”.

More bullshit. Ostensible rightists love to champion their evolutionary bona fides and project their presumed superiority onto the lowest hanging fruit. It’s another form of tacitly admitted capitulation. It’s saying we got nothing.

If it wasn’t the topic wouldn’t make the light of day. If it wasn’t you’d have singled out the remark about doing something useful and either rebutted it or done as suggested instead of the opposite: reacting to what you saw as an attach on rightism.

Better yet, rebut Chesterton. Paraphrased, he predicted the complete collapse of simple structural maintenance to the letter. Not reinventing liberty; just taking care of it. Nope; let’s ding us some dead proggs instead. Brilliant.

  • Vanderleun August 17, 2018, 9:18 AM

Ten, I regret to say that although what you enter into the comment box sounds smart what with all the big words and the stilted syntax, it really doesn’t mean much at all; i.e. “simple structural maintenance to the letter.”

  • Ten August 17, 2018, 9:34 AM

Looks like I winged an important narrative.

That wasn’t actually the aim but it’s still interesting how revolutionary bravado falls apart when an actual structuralist says hey wait a minute, boys; what’s with the codependent reactionary victory-lapping? See, where I’m from dead proggs just aren’t much of a consideration for true conservative bona fides.

And yes; Chesterton certainly appears to have predicted the complete collapse of simple structural maintenance right down to letter. The psycho left didn’t kill the dream. Sloth and arrogance did.

I wish you all a nice blog. Come home with your limit.

  • Casey Klahn August 17, 2018, 9:46 AM

Outdoor activities at the extreme, such as mountain climbing, international expedition bicycling, and the like, are better done as private journeys. They are best when closest to pure existential action. When you make them “for a cause,” they become a joke; they are narcissistic.

2 idealistic bicyclists getting whacked by ISIS is better than newsworthy; it is bellwether. Evil is a construct? Bang! The Karmic wheel was wound tightly in this event.

When I first read it elsewhere, I thought it was an Onion story.

In the same vein, the story this past 2 weeks of the grieving Killer Whale cow. Seriously? One Seattle Times writer had them as endangered. I looked it up; they are not on the endangered list. A flotilla of concerned scientistalists sortied out to “help” and study the grief stricken whale. Now, someone in Seattle is suing the US to get them on the endangered list. Why? because they “feel” deeply. Got that? A predator “feels deeply.” Shit. I knew the story was going somewhere. Now, I’m just waiting to see what the next bullshit trick is.

The arguments with the left are pointless.

  • харгӯш August 17, 2018, 10:41 AM

If indifferent, why jeer? No need to point out the obvious to the readers of this blog, no object lesson needed, so to what purpose? “Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.”

  • Snakepit Kansas August 17, 2018, 11:06 AM

  • John A. Fleming August 17, 2018, 11:48 AM

So submittants to the ROP and residents of *holistan have “moral agency”. I guess that’s what it’s called when all cultures and religions are equally valid.

Either there are absolutes, or there aren’t. Either some acts are always evil, or nothing is evil. The lions are not evil because they do not have moral agency. Neither do the wolves who sometimes engage in indiscriminate livestock killing. But we kill the “bad” wolves, while tolerating the lurkers in the far forest who have learned to stay away from human stuff.

  • John A. Fleming August 17, 2018, 12:09 PM

I lusted after the high peaks of the Peruvian Andes. Those were the days of El Sendero Luminoso, murderous filthy commie scum (is there any other kind?) who preyed upon adventure travelers, killing the lucky ones, and robbing the unfortunates to their skivvies far out in the mountains. To get to the commies, the traveler first had to run the gauntlet of hordes of cutpurses, pickpockets and ordinary bandits.

The closest I ever got was Ecuador. We met wild-eyed gringos coming from Peru who regaled us with first-hand tales of the chaos they had experienced, and the extreme measures required to survive. Peru was no place to be schlepping large duffels of mountain gear, and negotiating transport with skeevy locals. Might as well have been carrying loud signs “Rich estadounidenses right here. Please rob and kill and put us out of our misery before the next guy does.”

I reckon my risk aversion is stronger than my lusts. I’m still not sure I made the best choice, but at least I’m still here.

Trust-funders sometimes have warped and blind sensibilities.

  • pbird August 17, 2018, 12:43 PM

    Talk about bravado, Ten.

  • Fletcher Christian August 17, 2018, 12:50 PM

There’s an appropriate Heinlein quotation for this, as for many situations:

“Stupidity cannot be cured. Stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death. There is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.”

  • ghostsniper August 17, 2018, 1:11 PM

If I go more than say 10 miles from the compound I am armed, several times.
I see no sane reason to not.

Lot’s of stupid people running around getting culled, guess it’s always been that way, but the numbers of the overall totals keep increasing. More people equals more idiots. And with everything “out there” now, we all get to know about the idiots. No secrets any more.

If our only child succumbed to stupidity the question to myself, “What could I have done differently?” would hound me eternally, but I suspect the parents of such stupidity aren’t burdened so. How could they be? (the answer is in the question)

    Both were wearing helmets.

  • Scarlett156 August 17, 2018, 6:16 PM

  • Howard Nelson August 17, 2018, 7:31 PM

On third thought upon the murder of the four cyclists (one from Netherlands and one from Switzerland), Jay Austin was correct in a most important way when he said, “Evil is make-believe concept we’ve invented to deal with the complexities of fellow humans.”
We reject our responsibilities for appropriate timely action, and so we do too little, too late, too foolishly, and then ascribe the horrible consequences to the evil in men.
As a society we are slothful in responding properly to massive, somewhat distant danger. Witness Western Europe’s continuing paralysis in the face of the Muslim perversion invasion. Easier to call Them evil than to take preventive action now.
Do we still not appreciate that loyalty to the Umma, to promoting soft and hard Jihad, is the only salvation for orthodox, fundamentalist Muslims.
Are the 109 immutable, dominating, demanding! Koran verses of antipathy toward non-Muslims insufficient? Was Mein Kampf a comic book?
Our rights without responsibilities leave our lives meaningless. The voracious weevil of our irresponsibility is the evil we foist off on others, is the make-believe evil of which Jay Austin speaks — grave remarks, indeed.
We did not listen then. When will we ever?

There is not much difference between the pix of the pansy antifas and the pansy ISIS killers. Without the masks, they are just nomal somewhat nerdy guys. But put on the mask and in a group you have impulsive violence, cruel torture, unreasoning hatred.

This is not left and right. It is mob vs civil society. Neither ISIS nor Antifa belong in our midst.

  • Jim August 20, 2018, 9:44 AM

The guy on the left looks like an import.

  • Skorpion August 20, 2018, 6:23 PM

BTW, the ISIS dude on the left looks pretty European.

I’m imagining the sort of losers and bullies who used to join Klan factions or neo-Nazi parties are now *Reverting* to the Dar-al-Islam, getting received there as welcome Western converts, and immediately falling in with the craziest and most violent gangs, their outrages receiving both *Imprimaturs* from militant Imams, and endless, self-loathing excuse-making from the cuck-world that produced Austin and Geoghegan.
