True but Forbidden 15:

Putting Glitter on Your Dog’s Testicles is a Trend Now, Apparently We, as a species, need a new predator. We’ve been at the top of the food chain for too long. Somebody hurry up and invent, then piss off, artificial intelligence. Humans have become the animal kingdom equivalent of a foppish, ridiculously bewigged French noble whose diet is mostly foie gras and whose hobbies include pretending to be poor and… decorating his poodle’s balls. There’s actually absolutely nothing more foppish and French than glittering a poodle’s balls.

Breast ironing awareness ‘needed in school’ The practice involves ironing a girl’s chest with hot objects to delay breasts from growing, so she does not attract male attention. Conservative MP Nicky Morgan said teachers must also be educated, as they have a “very important role to play”.

The cosmic duh : Essays in Idleness   We were made to resemble Christ: the perfect self-giving of this self-revealing, Triune God, prior to all being. The embodiment of Christ is beyond thinking. But so are we. For even to begin thinking of ourselves as being, we must consider ourselves from a standpoint of not-being, which is unthinkable. The situation resembles what they call a “singularity” in physics, but is more fundamental. An “is” requires an is-maker.

Observe, now by Revelation, that God is Love, not being; and that on Love, all being depends. That in persona Christi, walking as He did, when and where, we see Love, embodied. God, beyond all being, brought Himself even into being, for Love.

House of Eratosthenes: Speech has never been more dangerous nor points of view more opposed. When the demand isn’t “why didn’t you denounce this” or “why didn’t you apologize for that” it is may be “why did you misgender me?” You can go to jail for saying “he” instead of “she”.

During my career as police officer I met a great many needle-using drug addicts. Some worked in the sex industry to maintain their habit. Some had taken to street robbery or shoplifting. Many were homeless or chaotic sleepers. A few had fallen from a great height, having lost well-paid jobs and their families. One or two were literally born with the craving as their mothers had been addicts during pregnancy. I never once met a happy user.

The Morning Rant “Ladies and gentlemen I give you the progressive left: 2000: ‘George Bush is a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, and a homophobe. Dick Cheney is a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, and a homophobe.’ 2008: ‘John McCain is a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, and a homophobe. Sarah Palin is a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, and a homophobe.’ 2012: ‘Mitt Romney is a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, and a homophobe.’ 2016: ‘Wait, how did an awful man like Donald Trump ever get elected?'”

AVOID CROWDS! After the Big One: Can You Imagine America Without Los Angeles? Our estimate was that eighteen hundred people will die and fifty-three thousand will need emergency medical care. A significant number of hospital beds will be out of commission as hospitals suffer their own damage. And it will be very difficult to get to them. Bridges will be impassable, collapsed buildings will leave rubble in the street, and power will be knocked out, darkening traffic lights. Many people will be trapped in buildings; first responders will be overwhelmed. Most victims will be rescued by their neighbors. Losses will exceed $200 billion.

The Deadly Truth about South Africa When the transition took place, the Blacks took political power in the national and local governments, but Whites still held the reins of economic power. The biggest burr under the saddle is that most of the arable land belongs to Whites; and Blacks want that burr removed. Hence, the Parliament has voted to take land from white farmers (without compensation) and give it to Blacks. That bit of political thievery has turned the nation into a powder keg as white farmers including children and the elderly have been tortured, raped, and killed by roaming black thugs. As of 2014, four thousand white farmers have already been killed, according to The Times of London.

The Quest to Acquire the Oldest, Most Expensive Book on the Planet As she lifts it out of the last of the wrappings, the Bible appears to be fine. For an expert like Robert Schad, there is no mistaking the original 15th-century binding of age-darkened brown calfskin stretched over heavy wood boards. The copy now in Estelle Doheny’s possession is the first issue of the first edition of the first book printed with movable metal type, in near-pristine condition, its pages fresh and clean. The lozenge and floweret patterns stamped into the leather cover are still sharp and firm to the touch. Five raised metal bosses protect the covers, one ornament in the center and one set in an inch from each of the four corners. Two broken leather-edge clasps are the only reminders that this book, which has presented the Living Word for nearly five centuries, has been opened and closed often enough to wear down the heavy straps.

Russiagate: why did the press do it? Watergate turns out to have been the worst thing that ever happened to the press in my lifetime, although they probably think it was the best and the high point. It gave them not just delusions of grandeur but an actual example of their power to bring down the mighty with their metaphorical pens instead of swords.

Wikipedia Editors Paid to Protect Political, Tech, and Media Figures  JUST  as with Wikipedia’s supposed reliability against fake news, rules permitting disclosed paid editing presume the unpaid amateurs on the site will be able to effectively analyze and evaluate the edits of well-compensated professionals. However, even undisclosed paid editors frequently slip past Wikipedia’s ad hoc methods of detection. The site’s effectiveness at constraining bias introduced by paid editors is thus not much greater than its ability to constrain its rampant political bias.

Photographer Captures Stunning Images of Ice Shards Along Lake Michigan    SO what can cause a lakefront to look like a giant arctic porcupine? As Trevor Nace at Forbes reports, when the ice begins to melt and break up, the water below pushes sheets of the glassy ice toward shore, causing it to stack up on top of one another, creating the arctic landscape.

The bullshit is strong with this bint. Zoe Samudzi –  “ZOE Samudzi is a queer black woman whose work is dedicated to reclaiming and reframing narratives both within the academy and outside of it. Wielding black feminist & womanist epistemologies, she interrogates structural whiteness and theorizes on decolonizing ways of knowing and truth-telling.”

The Left had better sober up and join an intelligible good faith debate about US immigration policy and the enforcement of existing laws or this will lead to exactly what Brent Tarrant laid out and what Mr. Trump maladroitly hinted at. Instead, of course, we will more likely commence another bootless campaign over guns. Here are some plain facts about that. There are already enough firearms of every sort loose in this land to commence hot civil warfare and they will not be surrendered by their owners. The horses are out of the barn on that one, even if sales of military-style weapons are outlawed. Any effort to confiscate them from people already possessing them will only provoke more overt antagonism between the two poles of American politics — and would probably lead to exactly the sort of violence that sober observers discern on the horizon.  Deadly Serious – Kunstler

Bring Back The Hangman |   At some point, survival will require dealing with people like Michael Avenatti. If after a quick trial, he is hanged in a public square, the dynamics of society would quickly change. Being the slick talking grifter would plummet in status and even the dumb people in mass media would become afraid of them. The executions would proliferate until the balance of personality types in society was restored. In other words, it’s time to bring back the hangman.

I’m so glad you read “Essays in Idleness”. He has another good one today.

Much good reading. The Cosmic Duh essay is straight like an arrow: Christ is the Personal God. By that, I do not mean that He is what you make of Him. He is more individual than anyone and more sovereign; fearfully so. By personal I mean that Jesus is the only deity in any religion who is knowable, and who therefore knows you. Buddha: least knowable.

By way of contrast, let’s talk about how Hitler is produced by global warming.

I’m just going to chime in with another note of praise for David Warren. Warren is clear, crisp, incisive; he wields some of the driest and most subtle wit on the internet.

“After the Big One: Can You Imagine America Without Los Angeles?”

It would be a much better place. Can they take Sanfrancisco and Silicon Valley too?

I say we build a wall along the California/US Border, and not let any of them in until they can pass a citizenship test in English.

    “Bring back the hangman”.
Be careful what you wish for.
Of course if the Democrats get back in they will employ the Hangman for an entirely different set of “Criminals”; Capitalists, conservative speakers, conservative clergymen, gun shop owners… etc.

When free money is no longer an option a whole bunch of stuff will cease to exist and maybe the rest of us can on with the full time business of running our lives as we alone see fit.

    Casey Klahn:
Buddhism is a very different religion from the others. For one thing, it’s essentially atheistic; AFAIK it posits the existence of gods but states that they are merely beings more advanced than humans. Buddha is not thought to be holy, exactly, but the exemplar of enlightenment – which is eventually achievable by anyone. And not being knowable is the whole point, because one of the central tenets is that we never really know anything because everything is an illusion.

On the practical side, the Eightfold Path is rather similar to the way Christians are supposed to behave. Not exactly the same, of course. I find it interesting to speculate about how Christianity would have developed if Jesus had been given the time to travel to India.

  • Joe Krill March 31, 2019, 6:05 AM

Casey, I believe that there is ample evidence to demonstrate that Christ was extradimensional.

  • Ann K. March 31, 2019, 7:45 AM

    @FletcherChristian,

You might enjoy “Christ the Eternal Tao,” by Hieromonk Damascene. Lots of food for thought.
