Tote that barge. Lift that Bale.

On top of every other “challange” in my “YEAR THAT JUST WILL NOT END!” today I have to move from my current apartment into another. Posting will be slim to none because…. chaos! …and the boxes are not yet packed… and the cat is freaking out… and the movers are at the door and……  “Old man River he just keeps rolling along.”

You shoulda’ just asked. Shoot, I got a truck and everything, man.
Good luck on this most no-fun task.

Oh, dear, I do not envy your having to move. May it all go as smoothly as possible for you.

Good luck navigating the YEAR THAT WILL NOT END.

Some years ago we navigated The Lost Summer. Flooding. Mucking flooded space. Remodeling already-in-progress different space. And just for shits & giggles the Good Lord saw fit to toss in some rare cancer, surgery, and chemo for a daughter.

I wish you all the best. Give your editor a little scratch behind the ears.

You were just getting settled in! Please don’t strain your back, sir. (Praying for you… about all I can do from here.) Happy landings!

I wish I were not on the opposite coast . . . otherwise I’d be more than happy to offer Miss Olive a place to stay and relax until you’re moved into your new place. She’s had so many moves too since you adopted her– I think this newest one is the fourth in less than a year. Cats do get attached to places as well as people . . . hopefully she’ll settle quickly into the new place, especially if you’re taking familiar furniture– and her toys and cat tree– with you.

Meanwhile, I’ll follow Daniel’s lead and keep you both in my prayers.

    Definitely prayers.

Well, the boxes were packed and then the boxes were moved to the new apartment and then the boxes were put in place in various rooms and then I went and got some takout Chinese and then I began to unpack the boxes and then I got very, very tired and then I lay down for just a bit of a rest and then I woke up at the crack of dawn and then I felt very very sore and sort of broken and then I had some coffee and three Tylenol and began, just began, to unpack all the boxes and now I understand why having your house burn to the ground instead of moving your stuff does have its benefits.

My respects. I never want to move ever. Glad to hear you pacing and taking care.

I’ll be moving in a couple of months to a new house. Got an apartment full of stuff and 5 storage units to to move.

“… I lay down for just a bit of a rest and then I woke up at the crack of dawn …”

LOL sometimes that’s how it works. Been there.

Hope you’re feeling better today! Give your kitty a scratch behind the ears for me too — our cat passed away in May at nearly 21 years of age. I keep imagining I see him sitting there or sleeping in a chair … I miss the old guy a lot.

For a moment I hoped you were moving back into a rebuilt house, to soon? Another apartment though, rats!

Due to my error of hiring my brother-in-law, (15 years ago) after a year I didn’t have a finished house to move back into, rather than sign a year’s lease on a apartment we moved into my mothers house for the last three months.
However there weren’t enough bedrooms. So after a year and spending 250K on rebuilding I was sleeping on an air mattress in the basement directly under the upstairs bathroom in a house with three women.
    So, it could be worse.
