People that litter their speech with “uhs”, flagrant hand gestures and shifting body positions all at the same time are full of shit. The only thing in that short segment that was true was “…I don’t understand…”. He an Melinda need to change the floor covering in the master bath because marble is too slick for wet feets and somebody is going to get a broke assed hip.

Solar cells are almost always successful, but what happens after that is called “management” and that is where all failures start. If you turn a cat loose in a room with a mouse it will be successful but if you ask the cat to reprogram your alexsa it will fail, every time. Management.

Bill has always had autistic tendencies, body-motion-wise. But he said – (paraphrasing) : ‘There is no substitute for what powers the industrial economy today.’

    Sounds 100% true to me.

Even if we rolled out perfectly tuned, amazingly cheap and safe thorium reactors one a month for the next ten years, we still would need oil and gas and coal for many jobs, and we still don’t have a fraction of the electrical infrastructure to support electric transport, and we still don’t have a decent WORKING battery technology that is fit for purpose. (Even though several possibilities are interesting.)

Management comes in far down the line from all of those.

What he said in that very short segment was spot on.

He’s dressed like the freakin Easter bunny. I don’t care how much he’s worth, and I’ve never taken a man seriously who wears a pink sweater that costs a Grand.

    Darn!
I must temper my previous complete contempt for the man.
I guess after a hundred billion or so you have skin in the game and start thinking protectively about your stake in the world.

Pink sweater or no pink sweater, he certainly called this very simple fact.

My wife and I lived off-grid for over 18 years in a mountainous, remote area in Nevada. We had photo-voltaic power and backup generators only. We experienced no shortage of isolation. The sun was on our solar panels almost daily.

Gates is 100 % correct. And in our experience remote homes can be run off grid quite well. But any, and I mean any, serious electric power equipment is very limited in off grid situations. Wind, solar, etc., equipment installations meant for large power production are a joke and rip off by their taxpayer funded fiascos. Look at the zillions of taxpayer funds Obozo handed out to criminal enterprises in the name of cheap “renewable” electric power. Vote buying was the only advantage to the politicians. And the uninformed voting fools still believe the liars in power today.

Obozo. Hehehe. I’m stealing that one. Thanks Terry.
