Something Wonderful: Kyra Poh, Wind Dancer

Amazing and mesmerizing. I didn’t even know Indoor Skydiving was a sport/competition.

This could revolutionize strip bars worldwide.

    Pole dancing without the pole!

    I didn’t even know Indoor Skydiving was a sport/competition.
It’s kind of a manufactured one, and rather expensive to pursue. The business model seems to be to get people in there for assisted introductions, get those who are hookable hooked, and periodically have skilled staff perform to show you what (costly) practice might allow you to do solo. She’s dramatically better than the usual demo, though.

Wonderful stuff! I too have never heard of this sport, but it’s beautiful to watch!

Reminds me of Heinlein’s wing-dancers on the Moon, in “The Menace from Earth.” Nice to see that we can do it now on Earth!

My husband and daughter took me to do this for my 63rd birthday. I didn’t look quite like that… more like a cow flying around in the airborne debris of a tornado.

And….. it’s….. FLANNELPUTZ for the win!

This is in Japan, right? Right?

It was followed by the fish fart smelling contest.

  • Vanderleun October 18, 2018, 3:03 PM

Uh, well, no Doug. Not Japan.

    And not Japanese.

    I see the wires.

Just kidding. I did see one of these in the Denver area, but didn’t know the set up. Cool. I love seeing greatly talented young people like this. Not kidding.

Aw hell, anybody can do that … Hold my beer, Gerard!

  • edaddy October 18, 2018, 5:35 PM

    One more thing …

Flannelputz and Schill, I’m pretty sure when you see my fat ass rolling around in that wind as I belch vomit at you through the glass, you’ll NEVER think it looks anything like pole dancing again.

  • Schill McGuffin October 18, 2018, 7:28 PM

Frankly, edaddy, I suspect I’d have a similar reaction to watching you pole dance. 😉

  • Steve Diaz October 18, 2018, 8:04 PM

Heck , even a mediocre pole dance will hold my attention better than this does.
But then I am a deplorable… or maybe just 1/1024 of a artsy fartsy

My first thought was “the enemy’s gate is down”.

Logan’s Run without the exploding person at the end of the dance.

Yes, amazing and mesmerizing, but all I could think of was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory:
