Memo2File: “Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else. Everything.”

Danny Trejo has become a real-life hero.

The veteran actor, known for roles in films like Heat and Machete, was in the Sylmar neighborhood of Los Angeles on Thursday when two cars collided at the intersection of Hubbard Street and Jackman Avenue. One of the cars was overturned as a result of the collision and Trejo, and a fellow bystander, jumped into action — rescuing a child trapped inside, according to ABC7 Eyewitness News.

The 75-year-old actor reportedly crawled into the wreckage but was unable to get the seatbelt unbuckled on the child’s car seat. The other citizen who helped, a young woman, crawled in the other side of the vehicle and was able to get the child free, ABC7 reports, then Trejo was able to pull the child from the car.

“And the only thing that saved that little kid was his car seat, honest to God,” he told the local outlet. He also advised parents and motorists to “pay attention” to avoid similar situations.

The Los Angeles Fire Department shared with ABC7 that three people were taken to a hospital, though none have life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. However, Trejo alleges one of the drivers ran a red light.

While at the scene, the actor also shared this touching statement: “Everything good that has happened to me has happened as a direct result of helping someone else. Everything.” Danny Trejo Helps to Save Trapped Baby From an Overturned Car | Entertainment Tonight

Danny did what decent people do when an emergency events happens in front of them. They help any way they can. I have been in that same situation several times. Something happens and you just respond. You don’t think, you act. You think about it after everything is over. I am not a first responder or law enforcement, just person who cares about our fellow citizens.

In “Machette”, Trejo grabs a surgical knife in a hospital, slices a bad guys belly open, reaches in there and grabs a handful of guts then runs down the hallway and lunges out the window using said guts to repel down to the floor below and escapes. My kinda flik. Yes, he ends up with the chik – Jessica Alba.

    He supports La Raza…
He’s on my list of movie actors I don’t spend money on.

He’s got quite the craggy wabi sabi face full of character, doesn’t he? Sad that even movie actors are politicized nowadays, but I do the same with my own list. Just can’t stand to watch some of them anymore. Nevertheless, Mr. Trejo did a good thing.

Shit. I don’t like the politics of the guys on my side, either!

    He’s a good man.

Who said anything about spending money?
I saw that flik on OTA TV.
Last time I was in an actual theater was to see U571 – yeah, back then.
Haven’t rented anything since the 90’s.

Craggy wabi sabi face, with deep gravelly voice. He played Enrique,Hank Hill’s co-worker in King of the Hill. Also Octavio, the character that even in cartoon form was menacing.
    Machete was funny,violent,and grossly entertaining.
Not unlike his role in “From Dusk Till Dawn”, as the vampire biker bar bartender. He exuded testosterone, unlike the “bigger” stars Clooney & Tarantino.

Not surprising he’s a La Raza supporter. In “the Industry” one must be a commie supporter in some form,or you don’t get work.
Kudos to Mr Trejo for crawling in to help the helpless. Like Casey said,he’s a good man.

I think you all are overlooking his finest work and most intense performance, as Marcia Brady…
