There was no security at the Tree of Life on Saturday, with former synagogue leaders describing how it operates an open-door policy for worshipers and only puts security on for significant holidays despite fears among community leaders that such a shooting was on the horizon.
‘Today the door is open you can walk in an out. Like most religious institutions, we have an open door,’ the synagogue’s former president, Michael Eisenberg, told CBS Pittsburgh.
He added that security had been a ‘major’ concern for him in the past and that he was working with the government to improve escape routes and emergency procedures.

‘We were working with the DHS to evaluate exit routes, I just spoke to our maintenance person who was able to get out.

My church is very secure. We get threats frequently. The doors are locked and monitored during services and we have roving security patrols outside before, during and after services. There are probably 40-50 people inside with guns, including me.

The shooting at the Charleston church a couple years back is what made us change our behavior.
I am simply stunned that no one in that temple concealed carry. Stunned. Particularly given that the temple did not have security. Maybe now more people will.
Those poor families. To have such a joyous occasion turn into a lifelong nightmare. I have not heard yet but hoping the baby was not hurt.

A heavy price has been paid by the victims and their family survivors for carelessness. As noted by Deana, the lesson of the Charleston church murders was not learned by the Pittsburgh synagogue. How many other houses of religion and schools are still inadequately guarded? Prepare mournful comments now for the next three catastrophes of negligence of this sort. If you have time for more than three, congratulations from San Bernardino, Las Vegas, and Sandy Hook Elementary School, Fort Hood, …

Very sad to see what is happening to Gab. Obviously, the left cannot tolerate contrary viewpoints. Therefore, anything inconsistent with its dogma and/or resistant to being assimilated must be destroyed. Thus, contrarians and conservatives must be silenced at all costs. We are the new Untermenschen, and as such it’s perfectly acceptable to deny us the basic human right of expression. Interesting times, interesting times…

About 10 years ago paypal and ebay tried to snap it off in my ass for $900 for a mint condition vintage (1976) Pioneer PL570 turntable I sold, but the post office destroyed. They even co-opted my bank into their scheme.
