[Mistakes Were Made on This Item] Google Seeks to Control How You Shop to Save Your Life

I blame the Internet

UPDATE: I stand corrected. I was wrong about this. AR-15 results show up on the main search but not when you click the “Shopping” tag.. I shall have to be much more careful in the future. Thanks to Schoolboy and Tim  for catching this.

UPDATE 2: Google Appears to Remove All Shopping Search Results for Guns — Even Water Guns, ‘Guns and Roses,’ ‘Burgundy’ | Breitbart

Update — After this story published, Google replied to Breitbart Tech this this statement:

We are experiencing an error in our Shopping results and we are working to address this issue. We have not changed our policy on the promotion of guns, gun parts or gun components.

Example Main Search on Google:

And Bing also has shopping results that vanish with clicking on “Shopping:”

Why this is I do not know. Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

Disgusting and vile on every level, this latest turn of the “Don’t Be Evil” company named Google argues for extreme solutions.

Startpage shows a whole list for sale also.

  • Schoolboy February 27, 2018, 2:38 PM

This is BS. Enter the info for buying an ar and see what comes up. There are lots of listings for ar rifles. Don’t get triggered by nothing.

  • Tim February 27, 2018, 3:03 PM

I just tried the search on google…..plenty of results showed up. I searched ‘ar-15 for sale’.

I stand corrected. The results show up on the main search but not when you click the “Shopping” tag.

Item and deep and abiding wrongness corrected but I stand ready to go to the re-education camps.

Gerard, it took a moment for me to figure it out after seeing it at WRSA and then trying it.

Indeed, ar15 shows up when you do a NORMAL google search.
But if you doo the ar15 search under the google SHOPPING function you will get nothing.

This is a blatant example of: AGENDA

Having said all that, what kind of nitwit searches for any gun stuff at all using the google SHOPPING function?
    I mean, really.
If that’s the best you can do then maybe guns should not be in your future and if they are, well, maybe your future won’t be very long. Think about it.

We should start a new gun company: Second Amendment Compliant AR-15 and Assault Rifles to Defend Against State Tyranny, Inc. Then, see how that googles out.
Next, we create the company titled: Second Marijuana and Seed Paraphernalia in Support of State Trannys. Then, see how that googles out.
    This is fun.

@Casey, that’s actually not a bad idea at all. A “portal” website that is constantly updated with current information pertaining to AR15’s. Last year when I built my first AR I did herculean research to try to avoid unnecessary expense and hardship. But the internet being what it is today I was only partly successful because the web is now innundated with about 80% bullshit and inaccuracy. Because of that I spent about 50% more than was necessary and have almost enough parts left over to create a 2nd AR.

So yeah, if someone created a site like you mentioned that had constantly updated links, articles, photo’s, video’s, reference material, etc., I would bet it would be successful. I would bookmark it and check in routinely for sure.

As far as the 2nd part, well, leave the whole tranny thing out and I’d be in agreement with that as well.

I use duckduckgo.com for my searches. No censorship and they do not keep a record of what you searched.

  • ghostsniper February 28, 2018, 11:56 AM

That’s exactly what they want you to think.
Besides, they can make up anything they want and if you can’t afford that $100k lawyer to prove otherwise, sayonara.
