Thanks for this one, Gerard. I plan on showing my fam on the Mac screen. We could use the cheering up (we’re fine but going to a funeral this weekend).

I’ve taken to watching third-party YouTube helmet cams of the mountain climbs, rock climbs and ice climbs that I did before digital cameras. In my day, we had to rely on scrawled topos in a book, or whatever we could see in front of us. Dah-um those were some exposed perches we got on. It’s been a very long road from there to here, and I see the hand of God in spite of any current infirmities I suffer.

If I didn’t take that better attitude, I’d be jealous of these young athletes!

Every time I walk into a bicycle shop I see the new mountain bikes, and just get the lust. Say what you will about this age and time, people are making some absolutely magnificent machines. My still impulsive nature says, “Oh, hell, why not?”
Common sense whispers in my ear, “Emergency Room. That’s why not.”
So I pedal along at non-lethal speeds on the fat tire cruiser, grateful for what I’ve got.

    JWM.

Youth is squandered, ” They Say” . My daughters into this Cross Fit, fitness shown. Strange how even something as simple as a workout has come full circle. She’s 32 a week ago can bench press small Buicks. Knocks out pull ups, with a 35 plate attached to her. Listens to music doing planks or some odd maneuver, I believe to be a crunch.

EVERYTIME I see her, I see the very best I had to give, thank god she is more like Her beautiful smart loving mother. Well she did get some of me, she’s hard headed. Conservative to a fault. Her idea of a shopping spree is an afternoon at goodwill.
