You watch – the numbnuts in the Georgie Republican Party will find a way to cave, when they could not only skewer their opponents, but demonstrate how to use power the way Democrats do. Photoshop that “Spirit of Freedom” with a second line that says “to think correctly”.

REI did the same thing. I have been a loyal REI customer since the 1970’s. I am their core customer: mountain and rock climber, backpacker, world-spanning outdoor adventurer. I buy tons of stuff there for all my outdoor adventures every year. REI said, we’re not going to sell any more Vista Outdoor Products stuff because they have a Shooting Sports Division. Vista has good outdoor products.

REI caved to the proggro gungrabbers. Buncha disloyal Puget Sound leftist soibois. The previous lady CEO of REI was Obama’s pick to rape and abuse the American people who visit our National Parks. (She was SecInterior. Nasty proggro woman.)

Hasta la gtfouttahere, REI. Told them to cancel my REI number and delete me from all their databases, I’m never coming back. Told them I’m throwing all my REI and MSR gear and clothing in the trash.

You should to0. There’s plenty of other ways to outfit yourself. We have choices. Women shop, men resupply.

As they say – Go Woke…Go Broke. ’nuff said.

This is clearly an unforced error on Delta’s part, and they have to be stinging because of it. My guess is that the Delta CEO wishes that he had taken the FedEx approach.

But that image of the Delta 727 is from an accident where real people died (14). Maybe this is just me, but I think we can lambaste bad corporate decisions without digging up the dead.

John A Fleming, I worked 15 years in the belly of the beast, and notably at their Capitol Hill store. I thought it was hard to put up with the granola and sovietism at REI in the 90s, but it must be much, much worse nowadays.

Vista Outdoor products??? Who the arf is that? REI went looking for some minor brand in their inventory to make some kind of virtue signal to the Leftnoids.

Sally Jewel was the last CEO I was employed under. Not like the Jim Whittaker days, that’s for damn sure. When she introduced herself to me, it was like, “aren’t you lucky to be meeting me?!” What a low life. She was at Interior when they murdered the rancher in Oregon. Cucking Funt.

The Left will sell you out faster than you can say Che. Learn it. Live it. Love it.

  • ghostsniper March 3, 2018, 4:29 AM

@Casey, I never heard of them too, until today. Apparently they are a large conglomerate behind many famous brands you have heard of, and some of which I have purchased products from. Bushnell, Simmons, Blackhawk, Hoppe’s 9 and many others. Hoppe’s 9? Well, OK, I moved to the all in one stuff a couple years ago anyway. I hang on to the Hoppe’s cause I lubz the smell.

@John, I ain’t gittin’ rid of my titanium stuff! But I will make it a point to punish REI, arrogant asswipes.

Ugh. Getting terribly crappy. Capitalism, best system for raising the people out of poverty. Yes, we have choices. As of late, however, due to the virtue signaling leftists running enterprises we wind up with severe limits to our capitalist choices.

I am whining, yes, I realize it. Just attempting to see beyond the futility, that’s all. I wish like crazy that our boycotting would have an important impact.

No more shopping at Target, that once was a simple trip when I wanted a tasteful piece of linen or small household appliance. No more enjoying a Sunday afternoon in Autumn together with my husband and my son as the Patriots and Belichick perform for us. And now, dang it all, Delta, the only airline which has nonstop service to the city where we go to visit our son.

Conservative boycotts are not changing anything or hurting the corporations. Delta and REI probably took no pause at all to think about conservative backlash to their toxic virtue signaling. In balance I do, in fact, choose to support American freedom over convenience and entertainment. But less enthused to do so as the left takes more and more away. And as appears no resulting changes.

Granola. I know, right. And then there’s the Communists what make tofu. Brave American men and women – or was it hard-working American men and women – are the hard, brave American HEE-rows what make char and gristle and fumes. Whatever, it’s axiomatic.

  • Ten March 3, 2018, 4:52 AM

Apparently they are a large conglomerate behind many famous brands you have heard of…

Pretty much every household product comes from just a handful of enormous conglomerates, ghost. And you know the really great thing? Ostensible rightists love corporate lobbying. Call it free speech, they do. Or free markets or something. Anyway, in all that shrieking about Clinton’s willy or which overpaid thugs kneel for some dumb song in a football stadium, you don’t hear much about deflating the uniparty corporatocracy.

Land of the free and home of the brave and whatnot.

There are good aspects to all these business sooper geniuses’ supposed virtue signals. First, it shines a direct light on their utter disregard for all us deplorables. What was or once may have been hidden; their disdain for deplorables and an inalienable right; is now right out in the open, and getting coverage far and wide. Good. A good many Americans still need to be woken up to the fact that the Left, often with the Right’s tacit assistance and approval, covets tighter and tighter control over their lives.

As for those supposed virtue signalers in business such as Dick’s, who no longer will sell assault rifles and such, screw them. Take your business to more friendly local gun shops. Your purchases there better spread your dollars to individuals whose ideals are more in line with your own. Plus, I’d wager you’ll receive more knowledgeable guidance in the correct firearm purchase for your personal needs.

I also think that these business sooper geniuses’ actions clearly illustrate just how dangerous is the relationship between business and government at this point in time. The businesses’ are pre-purchasing government favors, and signaling their willingness to work with the government to control Americans and destroy their liberties bit by bit.

I make all my own travel arrangements when out on business. It should be rather easy to avoid Delta, Enterprise & Hertz.

    Ten,
    Have a nice weekend!

  • Ten March 3, 2018, 6:52 AM

A good many Americans still need to be woken up to the fact that the Left, often with the Right’s tacit assistance and approval, covets tighter and tighter control over their lives.

True but understated. Try it without the binary politics: Our right is ostensible and at the top levels, theirs is indistinguishable from and interchangeable with the left. Uniparty.

Which is to say, partisan tension there does not exist. That’s for our distraction. Our right will certainly squander Trumpism, such as it may be. Theirs will simply swing pendulums and reestablish equilibrium.

  • John Venlet March 3, 2018, 9:06 AM

I cannot, and will not, disagree with you there, Ten.

  • Roger in Republic March 3, 2018, 12:32 PM

The irony here is that Delta was poned. This whole anti NRA scheme is being perpetrated by about ten activists using Bots to convince the businesses that they are a grassroots movement. They did the same thing to Rush Limbaugh a few years ago until he unmasked them. In this case Delta caved without investigating the whiners. I hope the air traveling public enjoys making up that 50 Million dollar shortfall from the tax break. You just have to know that Delta will just pass the loss on to the customer. It what they do.

  • Eskyman March 3, 2018, 12:45 PM

I was standing in a line yesterday at a supermarket, wearing my NRA cap, when a fellow I didn’t know passed by me. He stated, “We won’t be flying Delta, will we!” I nodded & replied, “No, we won’t.”

No idea whether he was also in the NRA, but he sure knew about Delta.

Delta has done themselves a disservice. If I owned stock in them, I’d sell; same with Dick’s.

  • ghostsniper March 3, 2018, 2:52 PM

@Ten, in case you missed it before: I have never voted and have been an anarchist/individualist since the day I was born and will most likely die that way. I heavily insult the left and chastise the right and all others that would presume to try to control any facet of my life. Simply, MYOFB and we’ll get along fine.

  • Howard Nelson March 3, 2018, 6:11 PM

    Courage commentariat!
Big difference between Right and Left topmost leadership and lower level followership.
Witness Right’s (Trump’s lash to Republican’s rumps) repositions , vis-a-vis, Left’s, on taxes, military funding, NoKo, China, that trans Pacific trade deal, NAFTA revisions, federal bureaucracy personnel and authority cutbacks, progress on veterans’ medical and financial needs, kicking Bolshevik and Islamist butt in the M.E., beating on NATO to pay their share for the alliance,
And sooner before later, Trump will have empowered another Mad Dog, a new prosecutor to pursue Obama and Clinton malfeasances (uranium to Russia, emails law breaking with and without FBI collusion/corruption, DOJ gunrunning to Mexico, IRS mismanaged snooping and pooping on politica
    obvious innocents

  • Howard Nelson March 3, 2018, 6:31 PM

Sorry for my keyboard hiccup above, which should be – political enemies such as the
Tea Party, their sympathizers and funders.
And if Sessions must go, I nominate, of blind sheikh prosecution success, Andrew McCarthy.

  • Howard Nelson March 3, 2018, 6:49 PM

    And then he said,
Have you noticed that the USA, since Trump, no longer snivels, no longer kowtows to the backbiters and sewer rats?
And to paraphrase Brother Theodore — ‘Had not Trump been unsane, we’d have gone mad long ago.’

  • Tired dog March 5, 2018, 7:43 PM

United, perennially trailing Delta in profit because it hasn’t offshored all backoffice functions yet, jumped on the “hate nra, fly with us’ wagon about a minute later. Wonder how it’s working for them?

  • Former Lurker March 6, 2018, 1:23 PM

The last time I flew Delta was the worst experience I have had ever, and I have been traveling for work since 1983. The last time I flew United was only marginally better. I will never, ever fly either of those airlines again. It appears as though Southwest goes to where I need to go now, so I am just going to take the extra few miles drive to BWI instead of Dulles and deal with it.
