“I don’t like to assert my will over other people.”

    Perfect.

I’ve been given assurance that “…the gates of Hell shall not prevail against My Church.” No similar guarantee protects my country. Nadler, Pelosi, Schumer, Waters, Cummings, et.al., ad. nauseum seem to bear the very countenance of Evil. Would be hob-nailed jack booted thugs, the lot of them.

This post forms a fitting bookend to your 3 May post quoting Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn: http://americandigest.org/wp/what-about-the-main-thing-in-life-all-its-riddles/

Two minutes of Handel to lift one’s spirits: a tenor recitative and air from The Messiah: texts from Psalm 2 appropriate to the current post:
He that dwelleth in Heav’n shall laugh them to scorn; The Lord shall have them in derision.
    (Psalm 2: 4)
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
    (Psalm 2: 9)

    Goddamn evil motherfuckers.

A Sea slug with a “D” in front of it would get elected in Nadler’s district: Upper West Side, Manhattan.
Well, at least he’s a good looking guy.

Hmmm. I wonder if God got their memo. I guess time will tell. It always will.

I agree with Casey, though I think they are even worse than that. They are the gaseous effluent that rises to the top of the Communist septic tank when all reason and accountability are removed.

    Get a rope.

The entire point of “swear or affirm” is that swearing means you are giving your word in the presence of some divine being, to receive punishment from said being if you testify falsely; whereas affirming means that you are giving your word without dragging the Almighty into it and possibly bugging Him.

Both possibilities exist for the convenience of Christians, although both leave room for other religions and affirmation is often used by atheists. But the entire legal principle is oriented toward a theist understanding of the universe.

It would not seem to be legal to change the formula for swearing-in witnesses. Any witnesses who lied under oath or affirmation and were prosecuted by Congress would probably have grounds to dispute that they actually were ever under oath, legally.

Funny…I can’t find this on the One America News website.

  • Bill Cox May 9, 2019, 5:09 AM

My morning constitutional had more dignity and bearing than these clowns. Cohen looks like a drop out from clown college. Nadler should have skipped the fatboy surgery and done the world a favor and stroked out.

  • captflee May 9, 2019, 7:01 AM

    Bill Cox:

One is almost tempted to have some sympathy for Rep. Cohen, as his continuing presence in the Swamp is at the tender mercy of the 2/3 black electorate of TN-9; he is effectively “stealing” the job from some potential star of numinosity in Tennessee’s sole Bantustan minority majority district, and must thus excel at bringing the crazy to forestall defenestration, but a glimpse of that oh, so punchable punim, or any time at all listening to his moronic, insane blather more than suffices to reject any sympathy whatsoever.

A Democrat, claiming that they don’t want to exert their will over other people?!

100% bullshit, and the irony here is that they do exactly that **all** the time because it’s what they live for, but then they want to hide behind it whenever convenient to undercut Christianity.

WTF is wrong with Democrats these days? The crazy is amped up to 11, all the time, on everything.

House rules need to be changed when one of the parties is too f**king crazy to be trusted with power. This is not what the Founders had in mind.
