Most people like being in a group. In fact, they require it. If they found out they had been canceled from all groups they would panic. Put a “dem” in the middle of panic and you get pandemic, and look who’s driving the latest one. Right. dems. Cause they are manic. So, exchange the m with the n, then trade the n for a p, then plop a dem in the middle and you end up with pandemic, oh yeah, yank out the other m.
That’s why “avoiding crowds” is a rule, cause crowds are groups and groups lose their individuality and their ability to think properly, relying instead on a leader of any particular group to tell them what to think. The more groups you choose to belong to the more leaders that are telling you what to think and eventually you don’t think at all. The only venue you left is the cattle car, then the oven.

Ah, tribes, and our tribes will get along much like the Hutus and the Tsutsis.
While our overlords toast our stupidity.

Right, one step at a time. This got me to thinking about our current lockdown situation. We’ve been following all of the increasing draconian rules that began with avoiding crowds and now have us waiting outside of grocery stores six feet apart wearing face masks. And that got me thinking about this quote from L. Tolstoy in Anna Karenina, part 7, chapter 13:
“There are no conditions to which a man cannot become used, especially if he sees that all around him are living in the same way.”

For a look at how the structure and nature of social media creates this phenomenon:
@ Harry…. Tolstoy is SO contemporary to read… and what he said… I can’t get used to it. I haven’t worn a mask yet. A friend gave me one… across the front is printed, “TRUMP 2020 Keep America Great.” I think if I put this on I’ll get punched in the mouth. So far nobody has commanded me to wear a mask. I am deeply disappointed by humanity. I knew there were snowflakes everywhere, but now they wear it on their sleeves… and across their mugs. Disgusting.

I swore off the stuff many years ago, but you surely need to send our host some of whatever you’re smoking. It’s gotta be real good. LOL “Right. dems. Cause they are manic. So, exchange the m with the n, then trade the n for a p, then plop a dem in the middle and you end up with pandemic, oh yeah, yank out the other m. ”
manic –> namic –> pamic –> pamdemic –> pademic? or pademic?
I’m old enough to remember movie theaters with the smoking section in the balcony and, during the intermission between features, an audience singalong with follow the bouncing ball on the screen.
That’s the world today, sans smoking section, & though the songs are senseless; “Orange Man Bad!”, “If it saves the life of one sea turtle…”, “Religion of Peace!”, “Huddle in place!”, -most folks sing along.
There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we’ll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we’ll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.
The steel mill sky is alive.
The fire breaks white and zigzag
shot on a gun-metal gloaming.
Man is a long time coming.
Man will yet win.
Brother may yet line up with brother:
This old anvil laughs at many broken hammers.
There are men who can’t be bought.
The fireborn are at home in fire.
The stars make no noise,
You can’t hinder the wind from blowing.
Time is a great teacher.
Who can live without hope?
In the darkness with a great bundle of grief
the people march.
In the night, and overhead a shovel of stars for keeps, the people
march:
“Where to? what next?”

It’s been an interesting voyage of discovery watching Tim Pool slowly taking the red pill.
