When I Drive Cab by Lew Welch

1. After Anacreon

When I drive cab
I am moved by strange whistles and wear a hat.

When I drive cab
I am the hunter. My prey leaps out from where
         hid, beguiling me with gestures.

When I drive cab
all may command me, yet I am in command of all who do.

When I drive cab
I am guided by voices descending from the naked air.

When I drive cab
A revelation of movement comes to me. They wake now.
Now they want to work or look around. Now they want
drunkenness and heavy food. Now they contrive to love.

When I drive cab
I bring the sailor home from the sea. In the back of
my car he fingers the pelt of his maiden.

When I drive cab
I watch for stragglers in the urban order of things.

When I drive cab
I end the only lit and waitful thing in miles of
         darkened houses.

    Situational Awareness at all times.
Just saw the tweet of muh civil servant Zil Trabant style e-cars junkyard in France, the batteries were too expensive to replace.
Freedom of movement is unacceptable to the CPUSA or democrats.

Margaret Anna Alice is deserving of a Pulitzer prize. She’s been producing very powerful messaging and her latest is stellar. Here’s her quiz… are you a Good German or a BadAss German? The taxi driver video, a message of compassion, fits Margarets article very well.

Very interesting piece; I’ll add her to my list of sites to visit.
And do I detect a move toward pamphleteering, but in an internet stream, among the rebellious?

Hi Dan. Here’s another blogger who’s written some terrific analogy. The “good citizen” dude is an American that’s been posting from Poland for a while. Looks like he’s taken refuge in Mexico lately. He wrote an excellent article around Christmas time titled “the view from the mountain top” which Gerard posted here. https://thegoodcitizen.substack.com/p/the-gringos-are-coming?utm_source=email

Excellent video Gerard and good links posters. I needed that today. May God Bless us all. Keep the Faith it now is the only thing. May a global revival come to save us all.
